‘Jurassic World’, ‘Terminator: Genisys’ Among Super Bowl 2015 Movie Ads

This Sunday on NBC, a champion will be crowned when the Seattle Seahawks clash with the New England Patriots. But just as many eyes will be on the annual Super Bowl commercials, featuring some of the most lavishly-produced ad spots of the year. Also included among this year’s ads, some new movie trailers to get audiences hyped.

Several of the movies that will have trailers premiering during Super Bowl XLIX have been revealed:

Paramount will release a new spot for Terminator: Genisys, the reboot of the Terminator franchise due to hit theaters on July 1st. The ad for the film, featuring Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke and Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to the franchise that made him an icon, will air during the game’s second quarter.

Also on Paramount’s list of new trailers, a preview of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water, which hits theaters on February 6th. The trailer will premiere during the first half-hour before the kickoff, just before Idina Menzel sings the National Anthem.

Meanwhile, Lionsgsate will premiere the new trailer for The Divergent Series: Insurgent during the pregame show. However, if you’re a huge fan of the saga and can’t wait for Sunday, MTV.com will reportedly release the trailer tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET. In addition, a new trailer for Kingsman: The Secret Service will premiere during the pregame.

Walt Disney Pictures will bring a new movie to the lineup, as the company will premiere the 30-second debut spot for the hotly-anticipated sci-fi adventure epic Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney. The movie releases May 22, placing it in competition with Disney’s other major tentpole release, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Of course, Tomorrowland will likely need the Super Bowl bump more than any of those Marvel movies, so basically, a new Avengers trailer is not expected to premiere on Sunday. Nor is a new trailer expected for Ant-Man.

But of all the movie trailers to premiere, some of the most anticipated are coming from Universal: the studio will debut at least one new spot for Jurassic World, due for release on June 12. The studio will also premiere the very first ad for Seth MacFarlane’s Ted 2, due for release on June 26. Also on tap for Universal, a new look at the upcoming Despicable Me spinoff, Minions. Lastly, a new trailer for Seventh Son, due to release five days after the Super Bowl, will debut at some point during the big game.

So what trailers are you looking most forward to seeing, if any at all? Sound off in the comments!
