Pacquiao lands a right. Marquez follows with wicked hard right. Pacquiao’s out, not moving, fight is over. Marquez wins. He runs to corner and stands. Pacquiao down on canvas with those over him. He’s now sitting up. Marquez wins by knockout at 2:59.

Round 6: A Manny flurry lands hard, but Marquez responds with a left of his own. Pacquiao lands repeatedly with punch combinations and then angle cuts. Pacquiao really putting the pressure on Marquez trying to put him against the ropes. Big left partially wobbles Marquez until he hits Pacquiao with a MONSTER left that puts Pacquiao down. He is out COLD. Unbelievable. Marquez has KO’d him flat cold.

“It is a good fight. I am overconfident. I thought I got him.”

“If they give us a chance we will fight him [again].

Marquez, via an interpreter, says:

“We knew he was going to come out aggressive. We were able to capitalise on it.”

“We knew it was a difficult fight but not impossible to win.”

“We had to use our technique and skill and not let Manny connect as he has usually done.”
