I just don't think JLo was right on her comment about Jessica. If she (JLo) will just close her eyes and use her heart, she will realize that her talent is beyond conceivable. :)

@FrancisBalagtas I found her comment pretty insulting actually, telling her she needs to be more like Joshua. I don't know where her comments were coming from - has she been watching the same show? Jessica has delivered the goods time and time again, so what exactly is J. Lo "waiting" for? Is she waiting for Jessica to invent a brand new octave of notes over and above the ones in existence? lol

If you're still unconvinced of Jessica's ability after this performance, you need your hearing checked, stat. It may not be your thing, but you can't deny her skills. Seriously, how many singers can pull off a song like this?! The scatting blew my mind, especially the runs at the end with the super-high note that was almost high enough to be a whistle note a la Mariah Carey. Insane! I can't understand people who say she has no emotion - I'd say she's made leaps and bounds in this area this season. She really felt this one! She certainly connected well with "Sweet Dreams" and "Everybody Has a Dream" too. The funny thing is, the haters can't possibly pick apart her vocals so they point to her emotion because they have to find SOMETHING to attack. She can't win. Well I guess I must have lousy taste because I love powerhouse vocals that stretch up several octaves and give me chills. Yep, I must be tasteless.

@JulieBarbara It's not only about what you "hear" when you choose which music/artist you prefer, but what you "feel"....Jessica makes me feel empty...she obviously makes other feel inspired. I am sure that I don't need my hearing checked!

@Mikhail XO All I meant was that even if, as in your case, she's not your thing, it's hard to deny that she has great vocal skills. People can have different taste and still recognize someone has talent. I can be a big person and recognize that Elise has some major talent but her style is not my cup of tea.

I am a Joshua fan, but tonight was Jessica's best performance to date. She broke out of the Whitney, Mariah and Beyonce mold and showed her own unique style with this song. This is the Jessica that I would like to see as an artist. Brilliant performance!! I'm hoping for a Joshua and Jessica finale.

I have a major disconnect with Jessica...same kind I felt with people like Pia and Katherine McPhee.....shes very wooden and mechanical and seems to lack personaility......Im still waiting for her "moment" and more personality

@djfabian Carrie Underwood was also criticized for the same reason, described as "cold and robotic" by Simon Cowell himself, and it sure didn't stop her from attaining massive commercial success. She was just inexperienced back then like Jessica is now. Give Jessica time and I think she'll develop an emotional maturity to match her vocal prowess..

@djfabian I agree with that. She, imo, lacks soul and is fairly uninspiring. There is no 'personality' to her automatous performances...no real essence. Her vocal instrument is certainly tuned well...but that alone is insufficient.

As usual a very good performance....Jessica is very consistent and should be there at the end, but on a night where there were a couple of memorable performances this one wasn't really. This really seemed to me to be like album filler...something that was good and nice but just background noise.

BTW, did she say she liked getting Philipino food in the pre-tape?

Her voice is awesome for her age. But her songs are all too old, and the image projected too affected to connect to her own age group.She's a prefab diva. Take the long view, she doesn't project youth, or fun. Being propped up on the piano like she's in a Vegas lounge doesn't help. What I don't feel from her is "freshness".

Eh. I mean she's good, and this was probably her best performance, but I just can't really get into her vocals. It may be impressive because she's so young, but her sound just isn't unique enough for me.

@wildbirth She already had her moment - "I Will Always Love You." And before that, "The Prayer," which would have gotten more attention if it had been on the live shows. I'm hoping for another big moment but she's so consistent that really, every performance is superb. She sets the bar so high that it'll be hard to top herself.

@Ross88 @wildbirth Well, there have been tons of Idol moments over the years, such as Adam Lambert's 'Madworld,' Fantasia's 'Summertime,' & Carrie Underwood's 'Alone.'

Is this in the same league? ...definitely....not...
