Jermaine Jones: “American Idol knew of my previous arrest since my application”

I want to cry.

Jermaine Jones was on CNN Showbiz Tonight to talk about his exit from American Idol. He said that in his application, he indicated that he was arrested before and the show did a background check on him. He actually obtained a lawyer to take care of some of those issues so he could be on the show.

Wow. So there you have it. American Idol knew about his previous arrest way before this week’s disqualification.

Nigel Lythgoe has allowed the show to sink to new lows in order to obtain high ratings. What a disappointment.

I knew it! American Idol clearly exploited Jermaine Jones to drum up controversy. They knew about his arrests from the start, just like I figured. When he was mysteriously brought back as an extra contestant in Top 24 week, I knew something was fishy. Then a few weeks later, they "suddenly" find out he has warrants out for his arrest and dump him from the show. Yeah, like they didn't know it all along. I would go so far as to say they only gave him that extra slot in the first place to drop this bombshell and eject him yet again. Wow, Idol has sunk to a new low of exploitation and ruthless money-grubbing. I feel bad for Jermaine. Got trampled by the Idol machine.

maybe they did...but did they know that there were warrants out for him? Maybe once they found THAT out....

It was so obvious Nigel only brought him back in the twist so he could drum up ratings a few weeks later. Nigel is a sick man for using someone's criminal record for a ratings ploy. No matter what Jermain did, he just had his life ruined because every employer in the country knows about this now.

Nigel should get a new job. you know, like editing the National Enquirer or some other British tabloid that runs stories of how this alien life form impregnated this or that woman. LOL
