Jennifer Hudson Might Be Coaching The Voice UK in 2017

One of the biggest successes to ever come out of American Idol might actually be headed for The Voice: Jennifer Hudson is rumored to be among the names being considered to become a coach on The Voice UK in 2017!

According to a report by The Daily Mirror, talks are still under way to finalize the panel for the upcoming season. The panel is set to include Kylie Minogue, Sir Tom Jones, and Will.i.am, the latter of whom producers were particularly desperate to keep, for some reason.

“They’ve pushed the boat out to get Will to stay and are very much hoping he’ll say yes,” said a source close to the situation. “He loves the show and he’s actually a bigger star here than he is in the US.”

However, the source would go on to claim that producers are keen on getting J-Hud on the show: “Jennifer is huge in America, where she’s won an Oscar and an Emmy [sic]. The offer has gone out and everyone’s very excited at the thought of getting her.”

But not everything is all rainbows and sunshine, as Sir Tom Jones is reportedly still angry with producers over how his exit was handled after BBC let him go at the end of last season. In an interview with the Mirror at the time of his firing, Sir Tom lashed out:

‘It’s not that I was let go, it is how it was handled,’ he said.

‘If indeed the producers were planning a cast change back in March/April, after the most successful year of the series in terms of viewer numbers, a warm and civilised conversation was in order at that time.’

He added: ‘The executives in charge couldn’t be ladies and gentlemen about it, that they were filled with paranoia about a “leak” above all, is deeply insulting to our professionalism.’

According to the Daily Mirror’s latest source, getting Sir Tom back would be a huge plus in favor of getting Will.i.am to return: “Will would love to have Tom back,” the source claims.

Filming is set to begin later this year for airing in 2017.

All in all, I think Jennifer Hudson would be a great addition to the panel, and she’d be the strongest vocalist of the four, in my opinion. Here’s hoping they can lock her down, because it’d be great to see an Idol alum coaching on The Voice.
