Javier Colon reaches #1 on iTunes
Javier Colon finally beat Dia Frampton on iTunes! ‘Stitch by Stitch’ is now #1 on the singles chart – and his first #1. Congratulations!
Download: Stitch by Stitch
‘Stitch By Stitch’ was written by David Hodges, Dave Bassett, and Lindy Robbins and produced by Rodney Jerkins.
The Voice’s first champ, Javier Colon, was in the middle of doing press on Thursday about last night’s win when he received the news that his original single, “Stitch By Stitch,” had just reached No. 1 on iTunes.
“This is amazing. Wow. I’ve got a No. 1 single on iTunes, man,” Colon tells The Hollywood Reporter moments after hearing the news from his manager. “God, I don’t even know… that with the feelings that I have from last night. Man, it’s amazing. I don’t even know what to say. I’m so grateful. I can’t believe it.”
Got Something to Add?
"So Adam spent some money im guessing" --ROFLCOPTER
LOL! I guess so. Probably asked a couple of his friends and fans to download the new single of 98° (or is it 'N Sync or Backstreet Boys??).....his treat!
Yes he was number 1 this morning and all of a sudden all the songs from The Voice were removed!
Anyone knows why? What is happening?
I don't know what the story is, but I just looked at the US itunes top 100, and it says Stitch by Stitch is only at 60, which is also the highest charting single from The Voice. I don't understand how this morning there were about 5 voice performances in the top 25, yet only about that much now trail at the bottom of the top 100..
Lol...sham? The Voice never once promoted itself as an amateur singing contest. They even talked about their past failures on the show many times. If you want amateurs, go watch Idol and enjoy Scotty McCreery!
Wow, you're so rich Marie Ruffin. Maybe you should attend to your millions instead of writing comments. A lot of people who read this blog would appreciate $100K, unlike yourself.
The difference between Ai and AGT is the singers are raw. Singing is not their profession, it's a dream. The VOICE contestants have lived their dream over and over, and does anybody really think they will MAKE it this 3rd time? I don't. The business is cruel. They're lucky to have a show that puts them back in front of the public, and without the show, they wouldn't get another chance at a record contract.
And the prize? $100,000! REally? What does that get you?
I just read that all of the finalists had previous record deals AND released multiple albums in the past, WOW...SHAM!
I think you're buying into the AI propaganda... you need to remember that AI does indeed have contests who have had past opportunities. Carly Smithson comes immediately to mind. She had a prior contract with MCA Records and had released an album long before appearing on AI. Not a self-released album or a small podunk label... this was a studio-backed album. David Archuleta won the junior version of Star Search... not the same as a recording contract, but still not quite the undiscovered kid AI would have you believe. It's the same with all of these talent shows... So You Think You Can Dance loves to portray it's contestants as raw talent when we know that many/most of them have performed onstage, in music videos, won competitions or have way more extensive training that the SYTYCD producers attempt to downplay.
@Daddy --That's been my complaint about the show. It's not about RAW talent like AI or AGT. The contestants on those shows were waitresses, single moms, janitors, etc. They were trying to get a break, and the VOICE is about professionals who are doing a 2nd and 3rd round with record companies.
And being #1 don't mean nothing -- how many did he sell? If he's not selling 100,000 or more fuggedaboutit.
YES! Go Javier!
I am really so happy for him. I am praying he has much success with his career this time around. He is so talented and I LOVE his voice!
