Jake Owen hosted a free block party in Nashville last night (August 20).
Like the trooper he is, Jake was playing after having part of his finger amputated that morning, following a go-karting accident in July.
“This is what Nashville is missing,” Jake said. “I’ve always been a fun-loving guy and I enjoy hosting any sort of event. Maybe this sets a precedent not only for myself but for other artists to step up. It’s a perfect example of how much we all love what we do. Nobody was getting paid and they weren’t doing this for money.”
It was a huge event and I’m sure we can expect to see plenty more like this in the future. Jake’s new single is ‘Days of Gold’, while his album of the same name is coming out on December 3.
