The X Factor

Jahmene Douglas – Audition – The X Factor UK – Video

Jahmene Douglas auditions with “At Last” by Etta James on The X Factor UK.

You could tell he was nervous, and he got a bit screechy and off key at the end,  but he really grabbed the audience and the judges from the very first note.  I love this guy!

Jahmene works at Wal-Mart, but he has always dreamed of being a singer in spite of his battles with stage fright.  He seems like a really sweet and likable guy and he has a huge voice and really goes for it.

At times, I thought he was a little over the top, but I really like his voice and passion and I’m excited to see what else he can do!  He got a standing ovation from both the crowd and the judges.  Impressive!

Judges Comments:

Louis – “You are a revelation.” “This is what we are looking for.” “A Star is born.”

Tulisa – “You have not just the X-Factor, not just raw talent, but the shock factor.”   “It was bleeping amazing!”

Nicole – “I think you’re an amazing vocalist.”  “We need more singers like you, real singers.” “I just want to take you and eat you up honey!”

Gary – “I have never seen a vocal performance like that before.” “That was off the scale.” “You completely, completely nailed it today.”  “That is how to do an audition!”

He got four yeses of course.

Does anyone remember the show Angel? With David Boreanez? Okay, okay. So you remember the character Lorn? This is him in human form XD

I came back tonight in order to make sure, and yes---- he misjudged the ending and almost ran out of air, but was never screechy and most importantly NEVER OFF KEY. NEVER. I just watched Adam Lambert performing in Japan and man he has become totally, totally lazy with his vocal control and yes, he IS screechy. Bring it on Glamberts. Oh that's right, you all moved away.  Yay.

Really, Tina.  That was not screechy or anywhere off key.  That WAS sensational.

Lol that was "revealed" awhile ago. I just changed the user name to avoid confusion for those who missed it or don't frequent the comments.

@takakupo I only watched the show occasionally, so I only really remember Angel and the character that was played by the actor who played Mark on Roseanne.

@WaynoCoaster Most of it was, but the end was a bit screechy to my ear.  I think it was only because he was excited and nervous.  I liked him a lot.  I hope he makes the live show.
