Jimmy Iovine warns Jacob Lusk not to over do it. So what does he do? Over does it. Oddly one of the best versions I've heard of this song was by Fantasia during an Elton John tribute show (think it was the Kennedy Center Honors)
First half a copy of what Joe Mcelderry did on XFactor. Too bad the singer doesn't have near the melody in his voice that Mcelderry has. Like so many singers on these shows, he tries to make up for his inability to hold the melody with super sugary runs. It's so sweet, you feel like barfing by the end. I guess Jacob has done a bit better than the extremely disappointing Jermaine Sellers from last year's show.
Arghhh. I USED to like that song till he killed it and not in a good way. Way, way, way over the top! I agree w/Randy; chose your 'moment' in the song. Not every phrase has to be flat out wailing. JMO>
I love Jacob's voice, but this is not the kind of song you change too much...its beauty is in its simplicity...Elton sang it as if he was talking to himself bcoz it is about asking oneself and not telling the one you love coz by this time one knows its over and just whispers to themselves "what do i gotta do to make you love me", and Jacob totally messed up the essence of this beautiful quiet song. And then made it worst by changing the melody in the second half too.
I think he might be in trouble tomorrow tbf.
He's back to his overwrought, out-of-control self. But dang, this guy can sing.
But he won't win. His image is hard to swallow sometimes.
Marcus you hate every thing he has sung in his life? LOL seriously you have heard EVERYTHING? bahahahaha. Jacob is talented. I don't get all the haters..shame..
Hated this. Actually I've hated everything this guy has ever sung (in his life). He needs to go home...NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I listen the audio version here .it just wow...but when I see the video version.I slightly bothered by his look.no offence.his face look like he was in toilet every time he sing.
Yeah he should have done some Lion King "Circle of Life" I don't think that's ever been done on the show before and he could give it the Broadway flair
I have nothing but negative things to say about this. Negative negative things. Ugh.
This song was already sung on the show this season..twice..and it was done much better >.>
Noelle, don't worry about the haters. You keep doing what you do, girl.
Fwiw, this performance only made me miss Robbie. I also thought it was a bizarre choice.
I've been Bonqui'qui since the beginning. And you need to stop taking over Rickey's website. It's HIS website hence the name rickey.org. You want to blog? Go to tumblr.
You know what, you can keep coming back as many times as you like under as many names as you like but you're still a troll.
Drag your mouse over to that red x and do us all a favor and don't come back.
Noelle you need to be quiet. Your posts on rickey.org are boring as heck so who are you to criticize someone? Btw I think Jacob went kaka in that last note. You can tell by his face
That performance deserved an Oscar but I am not sure if it deserved a Grammy
His eyes was closed in that picture he took with Mary J Blige
2 Divas in the house! I can't take it
