My internet went down this morning and there’s still no internet. I am currently dictating this quote through my friend via cellphone. I will still record the show and after the show I will rush downtown and upload the files from there. So please be patient. I will see you in two hours or so. Why am I doing this? Because I love you! Please use this space to discuss among yourselves while I’m away. And to my typist, thank you! I love you!
Got Something to Add?
Rickey, You're always going that extra mile to get things done. We all love you, you are the greatest. I want to let you know that you're the best blogger on the internet.
I couldn't really focus too much on Kenny's analysis. He just looks so different. He wouldn't even score well on www.menwholooklikekennyrogers.com
Way too much surgery....He's the male version of Dolly Parton right now.
As boring as this evenings show was, it was full of surprises...
I never thought i'd see the day that Taylor Hick's sucked.
Today, sadly i did...
I never believed a time would come whereby Kelley would rise from the ashes of idiocy and rule the roost surpreme...
And i had to brace myself when Daughtry hit the stage...
i was expecting crumpled forhead skin and massive screaming coupled with bulging eyes and viens popping underneath throat skin.....but no!
he could've been the poster boy of anesthesia this evening he was so docile and subdued...
(so unnatural-bring back the screamer!)
hummmm. who else?
(gonna pull a Rickey...
Elliot and Bucky.
(well, that's not a surprise but who can say a bad thing about those two "real souls"
she looked depressed tonight, even behind the smiles...
she missing Lisa, her roomie....
Or is Paris missing being herself, a kid.
(too much posing as others can do that to a youn gal...every week we see a different Paris...which means we never have seen the real paris.
No wonder she's pissed sad....
When is she going to wake up and smell the freakkin Maybelline and be HERSELF!!
I'm convinced you've suscribed to the Internet From Hell package here!!
I've a 20 pound sledge hammer- yours for the taking- for whenever you want to show the damn thing some love!!
Everyone is saying Elliott seems scared, looks stiff, and teeth isnt straight. Well, I just have one thing to say about that, Ruben Studdard.
The big guy never moved when he sung and sometimes had the deer in the head light look. He was over weight not considered to many as an "American Idol". But you could not deny the fact that he could sing.
People People, this is a singing show.
VOTE with your ears, cause whoever you vote to be the next American Idol will be on the radio not seen but heard.
OK, I feel really bad saying this..but Taylor, Elliot and Mandisa were not good tonight.
Taylor...Boring..I'm sorry. And that song? Ewww..
Elliot...looked scared to death, and again..Boring
Mandisa..I didn't like her even one little bit. And that outfit, I'm sorry..it was just plain wrong.
And I agree with a previous comment that if Kellie and Bucky gave it the BEST they've got being that it's Country Week...then they need to be shown the door..I mean really, are you kidding me? That was NOT good country music. And I felt like Kellie just walked up to the stage from the audience end of things so she could show-off the back of her sexy lace-up red satin shirt and sell "it". Yuk.
I have liked Bucky a few times in the past..but this was really soul-less. Country music is suppose to make you feel something. Both of those performances left me empty.
To me, Katherine, Ace and Chris were the only outstanding performances tonight...and all three looked great too..comfortable, confident, stylish etc...which let's face it..is part of the whole package (whether you want to admit it or not).
Oh ya..and Paris was just OK. The fact that I almost forgot her doesn't speak well of her performance. I thought she looked much better this week though..I was embarrassed for her outfit last week..sorry, just my thoughts.
P.S...I don't buy the dialidol thing either!! hoax...
Rickey's getting the videos up as we speak. How about a huge round of applause -- nay, a STANDING OVATION -- for our gracious, devoted, generous host!!!
OMG... I'm so WORRIED! I live over here in Virginia and I got through Elliott's line EVERY SINGLE TIME! =( NOO! He was the best tonight - by far. I LOVE to hear him sing! He absolutely CANNOT go home tomorrow! By what everyone has been saying about DialIdol.com, I don't even wanna go check it out. If Elliott goes home tomorrow, everyone in America needs a hearing aid. =) Hehe. VOTE YAMIN!!! PLEASE!!! (BTW - I thought Paris SUCKED tonight. Blah.)
----> 1-866-43657-03 <----
C'mon, people! VOTE FOR ELLIOTT!!! =)
Kan..I agree with the Kellie comment. I thought that same exact thing when she and Ryan were having that conversation!
What was she going to say..."NO, actually I'm quite bright Ryan..so thank you for asking that particular question...because I NOW want the American public to see the REAL Kellie Pickler"...
It makes Ryan look like he's promoting Kellie by trying to un-do whatever bad press has been written about her in the past. The problem is..he made it worse..she admitted that she really IS like that.
OK, I voted 20 times in a row for Elliot and got not one freakin' busy signal. I'm nervous and biting my nails.
Come on West coast, we're counting on you!
I was kind hopin' Kellie'd say, in a thick Brooklyn accent, "Ya know what? Yeah. I've been shittin' alla yiz the whole season!" Then I might have a shred of respect for her.
Seacrest asks Kellie: "So this is the real you we see on `American Idol?"
Kellie replies: "Yeah. Yeah."
What a dumb question! Who the hell would say otherwise.
Noooo! I had to miss tonight's show, no tivo, no VCR (only dvd player). Can't find a torrent of it yet (only last week's shows are up anywhere). So I thought, at least I can catch a couple performances at rickey.org. The stars are conspiring against me!
I know how much it sucks when the internet is down, gotta be 100x worse when you've got people watching your every update. Hope it's working again soon! Thanks for all you do!
well, its almost 10, and I've been voting non-stop for Taylor, Elliot, and Katherine. I have only been able to get in 4 votes for Taylor in the last 2 hours, which is a good thing, but I have had maybe ONE busy signal for Elliot, and I'm worried! I will be sad if I see Elliot leave before the Bumpkin twins, Bucky and Kellie. Ya know who Kellie reminds me of? That skanky blonde girl from the 90's Jerry Springer movie. Hmm... How proud I would be to be an American with THAT as a representation of an idol!!! eww
I'm a big Ace fan also..and I actually liked Chris for the first time tonight?!
Ace..cheesy? what's up with THAT comment? I think that Kenny Rogers had it right when he said that he was the best match of song to performer. I believe he also said that Ace was "passionate in his singing"...that's what came thru for me too.
But we all have the music and people that move us!
Don't allow him to go home tonight!
Don't worry guys, I've been voting for Elliott all night so far (and Ace too). I can't have either of them leave tomorrow. I love them!
I think that "dialidol" is a marketing ploy that gets folks to vote more and make the numbers impressive...put one of the favorites at the bottom and watch folks get all in a tizzy...does anyone else?
I've just started last week tuning in to AI this season..and I see that many of you are commenting on Elliot, and I'm just not getting it? I mean, he's OK..certainly he can sing..but?
And I kept hearing all about "the gray haired guy"...and I don't get him either...am I missing something here??
On Dial-Idol, they have Elliot in the bottom two.
We must VOTE ELLIOTT or he's going home!!!!!
I hate Country Musak. VOTE ELLIOT!! I'm in central time zone and I've gotten through almost every time. Elliott is amazing, even when singing some awful Garth Brooks song.
i'm kinda a dialidol.com believer now, after last week's result..
so i think elliot is at the bottom this week, it was too easy to get in his line...
for Elliot 1-866-436-5703
TDiane, you are brilliant! Shameless would have been
the IT of all its.
As soon as I realized Taylor was singing Country Roads, I just hung my head. It's one of those songs that went from cultural phenom (with John Denver in the early 70s) to years of elevator music, and never-ever needs to be sung again, by anyone.
I still have evil memories of our elementary school music teacher making us each sing, one by one, Country Roads so she could see who had good voices. Oh, the scars I bear. It's not like I had any doubts or delusions that my voice was any good....
hi, are you going to include the videos of the performers and the judges commentS? I would really appreicate it, as i missed the show too! i really would like to see it, as i'm a HUGE fan! thanks
DealMeAnAce, I didn't forget him. I called him cheesy. =) I know you probably didn't like that part. You must have blocked it out. =D Haha.
Hi! I was hoping that you would please please PLEASE post up the actual performances of the contestants...by mistake, i recorded at 9 instead of 8 and missed the entire thing! almost in tears here, please help! thank you in advance! please please please!
Does anyone know where I can get mp3's of the performnaces since Rickey isn't supplying them tonight? :)
I do like Elliot and Taylor..but honestly felt like someone that was tuning in tonight for the first time...would NOT vote for either of them.
And I agree that Kellie and Bucky should get the boot. I did love when Bucky sang "Wave on Wave" though...
I thought that Chris and Ace were the best this week.
Hmmm, so let's see.
Taylor - I didn't like his song, and he just didn't seem into it. I know country isn't his thing, but I think I better song would have helped. I love Taylor, though.
Mandisa - For the first time, I didn't think she did well at all tonight. The song changes notes sooo little in the bottom register at the beginning, and, personally, I don't think her lower register is impressive or pleasant sounding.
Elliot - He was good, but I just can't get past the way he pronounces his words. That's a big thing for me, but I can totally see why people like him. He has a lot of talent.
Paris - I thought she sang the song well, but it was obvious that it wasn't her kind of thing. That happens with theme weeks, though. She was good.
Ace- How did I NOT guess that Ace would sing this song? It's like the cheesiest song ever, and Ace is like the cheesiest person ever. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't impressed. Blah. Sorry Ace fans. I'm not dissing him, though. I just don't like him.
Kellie - As much as I dislike Kellie, I thought she was good singing Fancy. It was the perfect song choice for her, and she is getting a little less annoying. Thank God.
Chris - THANK THE LORD that Chris broke out of that rock-n-roll comfort zone. He was pretty good, but I thought it was boring. I mean, I'm not a big fan of his, though. I think his fans probably loved the performance, right? He was ok.
Katharine - I'm so glad that she was back this week, and he was just having an off week last week. I thought the song was good, but I think she could've picked a better one to show that voice of hers. I know everyone says she has no stage presence, but I LOVE watching her perform. Ok, and maybe that doesn't JUST have to do with her singing. I thought she was great. The only person that I thought that was a threat was the Pickle. (And you know I hate saying that.) =)
Bucky - He disappointed me. I wanted him to do really well on country week, and I thought that he was just pretty good. Kenny Rogers was right to tell him to enunciate more...
Those are just my opinions, by the way. I'm not attacking your favorite (though I'm sure it's obvious that Katharine is mine.) =)
Hey hey HEY! A vote or two for Bucky PLEASE!!!
He did a fantabulous job...
just in case ya needed a #...he was 9.
I thought Bucky was easily the best tonight, great song and great tone to his voice. Then Chris. All Bucky lovers please vote. I'll be voting for him all 2 hrs. He can't leave now!
I have to say that I expected so much more from Kellie and Bucky on "Country Week". Neither of them even came close to nailing it. And the judges comments to them seemed so forced..like they didn't even really mean it.
Kellie and Bucky deserve to be in the bottom 3 for that reason alone.
VERY good point, TDiane... 'Shameless' would have been a GREAT choice for Taylor. 'Country Roads' left me scratching my head.
Oh Horror! I got home late from work and completely missed the show. From what I'm reading on forums, this may be it for Elliot. I'm afraid your website is my only hope to see him sing again:(
Call! People! Call!!!
"THREE" is the magic number!
(No-- I'm not his girlfriend)
On another blog site someone said that these theme nights are getting insane. For artists who don't know who they are yet, it might make a LITTLE sense. But for talented folks like Taylor, Chris, and Elliott, who clearly know their strengths, it just gets painful to shove them into these genres where they are so uncomfortable.
And by the way, I'm nervous for my man Taylor -- I'm getting through EVERY TIME when I vote. EEK!!
"Assuming Kellie makes it to the next round, I highly suggest focusing on her eyebrows when she sings. Those buggers perform gymnastics routines!"
I love this blog. I feel Elliott gets a ton of support here. We are from his hometown and want everyone here who loves Easy E to keep voting. He may be bottom 3 tonight if you halfway believe the dialidol site.
Rickey, the hand of fate is against us. I forgot to chage the time on my VCR, so it didn't start recording till the show was 40 minutes in - but I thought, no worries - I will just watch Rickey's caps... so I cam here to see what I missed and my jaw dropped when I read the title. Not to make you feel bad, of course - how *amazing* of you to keep on trucking and try to get things posted later! We really appreciate it! I just thought it was funny the one night my VCR jacks up, your internet goes down. Shows I am way too involved with this show. ;)
Thanks again, Rickey!
