Yes, you read the headline correct. Famed British actor Idris Elba is ready to put his acting chops to rest for a while to focus on music.

Elba, known for starting in HBO’s The Wire, films American Gangster, The Losers, Thor & more is taking a year-off from acting to focus on music.

He DJs under the name Driis, and is right now doing a seven-week residency at a London nightclub. Elba has also directed a video for Mumford & Suns.

“This year I’m not going to work as an actor so I can concentrate on music,” he told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper. “I do it from the heart, not for the money.”

This guy is fucking beautiful and hot as hell. Having him in the same movie, Prometheus, will Michael Fassbender...it was better than watching gay dude porn.  I watch every piece of crap he stars in...including the shitty movie where Beyonce plays his wife.  Love him. Best thing to come out of the UK in years.
