There is a lot of talent on idol this year, but I think Haley has the most "superstar" quality on a commercial level. She has an amazing voice, very unique, and refreshing and she can do things with it that no one else on this show can (she goes high, low, soft, growl),....very diverse. I would love to see her win it, as I think she is the best, but because of the popularity contest that idol is, don't think she really has much chance....too bad! Love listening to her, and she hasn't had a bad performance yet. When "call me" is her weakest (and that was okay), you know she is good!
Wow!! Halley could have bombed with that since it is current, but she took it and blew it out of the water. As much as I love Adele - gotta say on this song, Halley did it better!!
Haley's been my favorite female all along, except maybe for Pia on a couple of songs, but I'm not a big ballad fan, and liked Haley's quirky jazzy range. I don't understand why so many people don't like her. I never heard of "Rolling in the Deep" or Adele until last night, listened to Haley and Adele on YouTube today, side by side, and I think Haley sounded better than Adele. Another great comparison is to listen to her and Leaane Rimes sing "Blue". Haley's version is incredible (not necessarily better than the original, though). No question in my mind, the last two standing should be Casey and Haley. They should do more duets, they're perfect for each other. Next week Jacob should go, followed by Lauren, James and Scotty.
Haley sounded great to me. One only has to flip over a couple of pages at rickey.org to hear Adele sing it herself live. Putting aside the songwriting credit, for pure vocal ability and delivery.....Haley is just as strong, and in some ways....better than the original artist.
Nice job. I'm still not sure why the judges aren't with her more, but hey.....there's no accounting for musical taste.
Beautiful, talented, great personality and attitude, i can't believe they're throwing her under the bus for the boring thing called Pia. Oh well it's not my $3M, but Iovine better be right, because Haley is much more relatable to the girls who like Katy Parry/Ke$ha/Rihanna/Taylor Swift than Pia will ever be.
I love Haley's song, thought it was a good pick for her. I thought she sounded a little shaky at first, but she picked it up and was really really good. I think she was trying very hard to connect with the song and bring some feeling to it. Mission accomplished. She did a great job, and I bet the I-tunes final copy if stellar. I will purchase her music, and that to me is the test of a true artist. That they bring something new and refreshing, and that you want to hear it...loved it! I love her, Casey and James--they are all wonderful and deserve to be the the top 3!
perfect song choice. This song is so popular. Adele is so good but John Legend's and David Cook's version also rock and HALEY nailed it!
Terrible. She has zero concept of the depth required for that song. It's way out of her league; I hated this performance.
Loved the song choice. Loved the performance. Loved her voice. From all the contestants she has the best studio voice. All her studio versions had been great. She deserves to stay in the competition, because she actually brings some excitement.
Haley's back! After a couple of so-so performances, this was the bomb! One of the best of the night!
VOTE VOTE VOTE!!!! DONT LET THIS REAL TALENT GO TO WAIST THIS YOUNG LADY IS TRUELY BLESSED VOTE VOTE VOTE
I LOVE FREAKING HALEY and anyone that has a open mind to music and a true love for good music recognizes just how much talent this girl has!!! A complete Original...WHO ELSE SOUNDS LIKE HER? Unlike Scooty...Lauren...Jacob...JAMES!!!!
The performance sent Adele's RITD to #1 on iTunes. Good chance it may be #1 on the Hot 100 next week.
Adele was the perfect song choice for Haley! When I heard that 21st century songs were the theme, this was the first song I thought of, and thought that Haley would sing it. Glad I was right, she did great! Still not my favorite performer, but I'm starting to like her.
I LOVE HALEY REINHART ONCE AGAIN BEST PERFORMANCE!!!! THIS IS THE 2011 AMERICAN IDOL IF NOT SHE BETTER BE THE 2ND FINALIST
Perfect choice, she's better than Adele by far. She is also better than Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood , both of which I love. Haley is indeed something special.
Wowwwwww!! This is better that her Benny and the Jets, who would have though? Wooohooo!! she's here to stay.
Am I the only one who thought that the performance was kind of uninspired. Vocally it was fine, better than fine even, but it just felt like she was going through the motions. I don't want to compare her voice to Adele's since they're so different, but on an emotional level, I feel like Adele is always right on the verge of crying, she's so connected with her songs. I thought Haley's "rejection" was just unconvincing.
this might sound weird but when she started singing, it reminded me of Moby's Natural Blues song... I liked this pick alot... Go Haley!!
This is her best overall performance I think. She utilized all her assets judiciously.
Good song choice for her as well! She's improving.
My favorite performance of her's of the season! Might be the best song choice of the night. I think she could have arranged the performance aspect a little bit better because she could have had a "Moment"
I'm so glad she reined-in the growling this week. This and "Bennie and the Jets" are two of my favorite performances for the entire season.
still not a haley fan, but with this performance, along with her duet with casey last week, i finally see why she is still in the competition
Goooo Haley! Thought that was a great song choice, and she sounded really good! get's better and better as the weeks go by.
Started out a little stale to me, but it got better. Overall, pretty good. Second week in a row she didn't make the best song choice, though.
She wore that song out! She reminds me of Mariah Carey
Slow start but the middle and end of the song was really good
its not a leap when two seasons ago Kris Allen sent "Falling Slowly" to the Top 10 download list on iTunes. Plenty of people watch AI and get swayed to buy music through it.
Uhm... that might be a bit of a leap. The song was doing pretty well before tonight. People that don't watch AI buy music, too...
Uhm...better than Kelly Clarkson and Adele? you better check yourself before you wreck yourself....KC and Adele are two of the best vocalists of our generation....I love haley...but she's not in the same league as KC and Adele
if you watch the slight body movements and facial expressions you'll see the inspiration...i think she took a different take than Adele and really did a great job...i thought it was totally inspired.
"Adele has a serious bellow to her voice" ... well Haley and Adele aren't the same person. And if she came out there and sang it JUST like Adele that would be karaoke and parroting, not showing any real artistry or musicality. She was amazing on this performance. I feel like people who didn't like it are unfairly judging her not based on the vocals, but how it stakes up the the original, which is just wrong.
Yeah, that's how I feel too. Adele has a serious bellow to her voice, and when she says, "could have had it alllllll" it was like she was preaching it. I hope Haley gets to the top 5, though.
So weird - tonight was the first time I'd thought of the Mariah Carey comparison, and then I read your comment. :)
