An exclusive report is out, saying that the execs of Glee are contemplating shifting its focus to the characters and scenes in New York City.
For the past year or so the show has been splitting time between characters at McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio and those who have moved on to New York City. Sources have confirmed to TVLine that the execs of the show want to shift the focus of the show entirely to NYC, beginning as early as this season.
The shift is one of the ideas that Glee creators have been thinking about since the death of Cory Monteith. Ryan Murphey has said on numerous occasions that the death of Finn would carry the show through to its sixth and final season.
If this happens, it is not expected that production would move to the East Coast, but there would be more on-location shoots. The biggest part would be deciding which McKinley High characters will be making the trek to NYC where Rachel (Lea Michele), Santana (Naya Rivera), and Kurt (Chris Colfer) already are.
