FX Renews ‘The Strain’ For Third Season

The Strain is coming back!

FX has renewed The Strain for a third season, which will air next summer. Current producers Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse will remain with the show for season three of the vampire drama, which is based on a series of three books, written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. The goal for the vampire drama has always been to get to book three, so it’s looking like next season may be the last one, if they manage to make it to the third book in the series. After all, the ratings aren’t great, and this show isn’t exactly cheap to make, so FX might be looking for an out. Still, the network must see something in The Strain if they keep renewing it. And it’s not as though the series has no audience at all.
