Fantasia Barrino on Oprah — I’m Here
Fantasia made me cry again! Fantasia Barrino makes her debut on Broadway as Miss Celie in the Color Purple on April 10.
The awesome clip after the jump… (if not ‘after the jump’ what should I call it then? after you click?)
UPDATE: Fantasia guests on Oprah again to sing “Even Angels” (with interview in HD)

Got Something to Add?
Fantasia is great, but my sister needs to dress to show her success not look like the hochie girl. I love her, but someone needs to tell her to dress more like a lady and not like the street girls. Her body is the bomb, but she needs to leave a little for the imagination.
Who really cares if they wore the same dress? The dress is not the issue this woman is awesome! She is a powerhouse singer. That is why I like Melinda in this season of IDOL she has the ability to produce an emotion, now THAT is the sign of a good singer.
Fantasia is great, she's so in the feeling! That season was never shown in here, but now I'm running to here everywhere.
Hm, first I too got confused with the "after the jump". What about "inside the post" or "included in the post...?
I understand when you write "More after the jump," Rickey. I've seen people write something to the effect: "More after the cut" where the cut is the LINK to click to read the whole shebang.
Fantasia must have freaked in advance when she found out Gina G. wore the exact same red dress as Ms. Barrino.
How did Gina afford something Fantasia can afford??!
WOw that was amazing!
AND yea that does look like the red dress Gina wore when she sang Alone.
Wow, Fantasia is the bomb! Was I seeing things, was Ophra crying too? Dang, it takes a hell of an emotional singer to make Ophra cry. Way to go Tasia and I am going to see you in the Big Apple if I can get tickets.
Hi Rickey - for the video clip...follow the link!
??? or for the video...click here...??
Love you Rickey! Keep up the good work!
Wow...wow...she definitely knows how to reach within and bring the emotions to the surface. Wow! This would be worth taking a trip to NY to see.
My friend told me about this yesterday. She told me I would cry when I saw it, she was right.
Loving Fantasia more and more everyday...
Thanks for posting this Rickey. Fantasia was great. I love her personality and grace and the fact that she is still so grateful for where she is and has come from. And I finally figured out what your email meant when you wrote "They announced it last night." :-)
..well that's just about the best commercial for The Color Purple that I can think of. I felt it in every fiber of my being.
Thanks Rickey for sharing it.
Wow. Fantasia really knows how to act out a song. She had me believing she was Celie. Those tears were real, too. Good for her.
A quick question: at first glance, doesn't Fantasia's red dress look like the one Gina Glocksen wore on tonight's AI show during her performance?
And now to watch Fantasia's clip.
I didn't realize Oprah was involved with this Broadway show (and yes, I know she was in the movie).
