Disney orders second season of ‘Shake It Up’

Have no fear! Disney’s latest flagship show, Shake It Up will be returning for a third season! In a press release, Disney has revealed they have ordered a third season of the dance-driven comedy show, starring Bella Thorne, Zendaya, Roshon Fegan, and others.

In 2011, the show was the #1 show among Tweens 9-14, and #1 among Kids 2-11. The production on the new season will begin this summer. The series has accomplished a number of feats for the channel, spawning Disney Channel’s first-ever talent competition, “Make Your Mark: Ultimate Dance Off – Shake It Up Edition”, giving the winning group a chance to appear on the show. The show has also had two big selling soundtrack, as well as net-hot singles “TTYLOX” and “Something to Dance For” by Thorne and Zendaya, respectively. This summer, a 90-minute TV special will air, “Shake It Up: Made In Japan” in which Rocky (Zendaya), CeCe (Thorne), and the gang travel to Japan as the duo gets to star in a video game.
