Derek Hough expects ‘Dancing with the Stars All-Stars’ to be his last season
Derek Hough told USA Today that Dancing with the Stars All-Stars will be his “swan song.” He said that he wants to pursue other projects like his sister Julianne Hough.
This is not the first time Derek has left the show. He left early last year to film Cobu 3D. I will miss Derek!
DANCING WITH THE STARS pro DEREK HOUGH has his eyes set on hanging up his dancing shoes, calling the upcoming season his “swan song”.
The blond hunk has led celebrities across the dance floor for the past five years, and now the three-time champion is considering ending his tenure on a high note.
Hough spoke candidly with USA Today, revealing, “This season is kind of my swan song. It’s my last hurrah. And this is my 10th season, a great benchmark. You just kind of feel it. I need to take that chance. It’s important.”
The 27 year old is likely following in his younger sister Julianne Hough’s footsteps, as she made the transition from DWTS to landing lead movie roles in Footloose and Rock of Ages. Julianne left the dancing competition in 2009 to pursue other projects, a move Derek believes is essential to breaking out in the industry.
He admits, “It’s really difficult to do both, impossible really. This show is full time… there is zero flexibility. And I want to do other projects. I want to push myself into other areas.”
Hough, who is expected to be a part of the upcoming All-Star season of DWTS, already has a major movie under his belt, as he plays one of the leads in the dance flick Cobu 3D, which is expected to be released next year.
