Demi Lovato Officially Returning to ‘The X Factor’
It’s official! Demi Lovato will return to The X Factor USA as a mentor and judge for its upcoming third season.
I’m personally happy to see Demi returning. I think she turned out to be a fine judge. She received a lot of flak for some poor mentoring choices, but I’m not really sure how much of that was actually Demi’s own doing. We have no idea just how involved production was/ is with all of those decisions. Maybe Demi just did damage control.
Plus, I think it says something that Demi still maintains a good friendship with “the last of the Young Adults!!!” considering the fact that CeCe Frey will most likely never make Demi any money. (Side note: Wouldn’t CeCe make a good backstage interviewer? Make it happen, X Factor.) Could you imagine Simon Cowell or LA Reid keeping in touch with any former acts who wouldn’t personally benefit their bank accounts? If you had to bet your life on it, could Britney Spears even recall the names of the four acts she took to the voting rounds?
On Lovato’s return, fellow judge Simon had this to say:
I couldn’t be happier that Demi wants to come back this year. She’s a superstar in her own right and was a fantastic mentor last year. Even though she can be really, really annoying – I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I’m especially pleased she’s back even during her world tour!
It probably doesn’t hurt that Demi is rumored to be collaborating on a song with Cowell’s former act Fifth Harmony.
Demi gave her own statement regarding her return:
Last season was an unbelievable experience and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel. I look forward to taking my previous experience and applying it to make this season even better!
Are you happy that Demi Lovato will be returning to The X Factor? Who else will join Demi and Simon on the panel this season?

Got Something to Add?
Never heard of her before the X-Factor here in Germany. I find her way too young and inexperience to be a Judge/mentor for the upcoming stars, but good for her for finding herself a place on a judging seat.
i'm glad she's coming back she was good last year. I would love to see Cheryl Cole and Ne-Yo on the panel.
