Here’s American Idol international singing sensation Elder David Archuleta talking about his new album BEGIN.

He said that he wanted the music to be easy listening which is a code word for “Adult Contemporary.”

I wish so much that David would make an album of the songs he sang on Idol beginning with "Long and Winding Road" all the way down to "In This Moment."  I believe he would sell a billion or more of the album.  These are the songs that endeared him to the people. I am not saying that what he has recorded so far is not good.  It's just that a lot of people can sing pop and rock but very, very few people have the amazing voice that he demonstrated on Idol.  That's what I would really like to hear on a CD!  Still think of him as a really wonderful young man and wish him all the luck in the World.

@Medigal David's singing on Forevermore (love songs) and BEGIN. (Aug 7, inspirational) are very close to what he sang on Idol where he sang love songs and inspirational songs.  Listen to the clips of BEGIN in a comment below and keep listening - Bridge Over Troubled Water is in there, and Angel, Don't Give Up, Beautiful, a hymn Be Still My Soul, and an original ballad called Broken.  And Forevermore has been in my car CD player for months - beautiful love songs.

My first listen of the long clips almost made my heart stop.  Check out the Youtube of long previews ArchieSue posted - those are on iTunes Europe/Mexico/Japan (still waiting for US to list the album).   His voice is gorgeous and out front, and the songs were recorded straight through.  David recorded with a simple basic arrangement (and I always love how amazing he is with simple accompaniment) and later added the backup voices/harmony (all David), and after he was gone they added the full arrangements and the female duet (Libbie Linton).   Benson - listen to the long clips.

Definitely not easy listening. Based on the short clips, I think this new CD contains some of Archie's most intense and emotionally real performances ever. I love the original song Broken.

David sings all these covers beautifully, He puts a little bit of him in all of them.  His vocals are just gorgeous, can't wait till the album comes out.

Lols Rickey  "adult contemporary"!  I don't agree with David, the album is deeper than that. So many messages and his vocals are gorgeous of course. 

Did you get  a chance to listen to the longer previews of BEGIN. Rickey?  They are amazing!

Love the Archugrowl on "Beautiful" and the new song "Broken" and the duet  "Don't Give Up".  Love it all of course, I'm a stan. lols  Thanks for all the Archie news.
