Danny Tidwell — So You Think You Can Dance — Top 20
Omigosh! They HATED him! Noooo! This can’t be Blake McGrath all over again. Danny Tidwell cannot start the competition with so much negativity. I’m crushed. I had such great expectations.
Go Danny Tidwell! You can still win the judges over. You have so many fans already.
Got Something to Add?
They showed him...I believe he got cut before the final 60...
What happened to the clogger? If you're going to do a feature on people, you should at least tell what happened.
And I think they purposely didn't show much of the contestants, because they want everyone to see them fresh next week. Some of the final 20 I had never even seen before...
Interested Observer, that guy was cut the first day in Las Vegas. I liked his story and it wouldn't surprse me if we see him back again.
I thought it was also weird that we didn't see anymore of that guy who could do all that whacked out stuff with his body (my kids called him the wiggly arm guy). He was the guy that Shane went nuts for in the auditions.
Go Danny!!! Go Hok!!!
What happened to the kid who gave up being a quarterback (and presumably dating the head cheeleader) for dance? He'd only been dancing for 8 months.
Danny Tidwell is amazinggg. Its rubbish that through the whole audition episodes all we see is footage of people(Olivier much?) who aren't very good and end up getting cut, while we see practically nothing of the final 20. If Danny was cocky or if his dancing was not up to scratch, then they should well have shown footage of that, rather than the judges TELLING us what to think of him. It is waaay too contrived. Aurochs, I'm really happily waiting to finally see him dance on the show too. I think he's going to blow everyone away!
I was sad about the way the judges portrayed Danny too and have a feeling that some of this is the result of the producers and editing, etc.
I have very high hopes and am so excited to watch him on the show.
i agree suffles, and it might work, he wen through the process to get in and then live the experience from within, he will share, i'm sure of it, but knowing Travis' experience, he is probably protecting himself too.
I dont think it's bad that he was portrait "differently" tonight, at least people dont think of him only as Travis' adopted brother, he has his own personality, is an accomplished ballet dancer, and it was either the "bad boy" portrait, or the "why do you compete in this show since you're already someone in the dance world...
It's going to be an interesting process to watch but hopefully for Danny to live.
They totally scripted Danny's cockiness... for knowing him very well, he was soooo humble during the whole process and they portrait him as the bad boy of the competiton, but as soon as america is going to see him dance, he'll gain everybody's heart, he is so talented and has so much deepness that it's weird to heat Mia say "it's empty inside"...
Thanks Rickey for being so supportive, GOOOO DANNY :-)
Yes he grew up with Travis, he was adopted at age 12 by Travis' mother, who is Danny's dance teacher, she owns a very modest Dance Studio in Virginia Beach. She also trained Jaimie Goodwin, Danny Travis and her are very close.
I don't think the edit they gave him was fair at all. Obviously he didn't give them anything on camera to trash him on (because you know if he did they would have shown it!), so they showed the judges trashing him constantly.
I think they're frustrated he isn't giving them anything personality wise.
Although I do think he knows he's "the sh!t" dance wise. But I don't think he's "Blake" beyotchy.
I think their goal is to break him down emotionally and get him to show some personality and heart. Because right now he's just a dancing machine.
Well can you blame the judges for their perception of him when he doesn't show them his true colors?
He does come off as cocky, but I think he'll show them another side maybe.
We'll see I guess.
I don't have favs since the 2 guys I wanted to be there weren't even shown during vegas...
I thiiink I read somewhere that Danny was adopted by the Walls at the age of 12, but I could be wrong. Can anyone verify this?
