Here’s how the pyramid looked this week:

Dancer Brooke still isn’t on the pyramid. It seems like Abby is still holding a grudge on Brooke & her mother Kelly due to the fact that they quit the dance team earlier this season. (But, they came back a few weeks ago).

The competition took place in Voorhees, NJ this week. Dancers Kendall, Nia, and Chloe each had a solo number.

Nia’s Solo – “100 Years From Now”:

Her routine seemed a little stiff to me, and I think she just needs to work on her flexibility. She didn’t place at all this week.

Kendall’s Solo – “Owe You Nothing”:

This week, dance mom Jill hired a professional costume designer to design Kendall’s costume… even though Abby specifically asked her to handcraft the costume herself. The costume was still in production, however, so Jill wasn’t able to bring it into the studio on time. When Abby removed Kendall’s solo from the competition because Jill didn’t have Kendall’s costume ready, Jill stormed out. Dance mom Kelly came to the rescue by convincing her to apologize to Abby for Kendall’s sake.

Abby gave Jill & Kendall another chance. I think Kendall did an excellent job this week. (She won third place). She definitely outperformed Nia and Chloe.

Chloe’s Solo: “Left in the Dark”:

Her number was a bit unusual. Abby choreographed a creepy doll dance for her, but the judges weren’t fans of it. Chloe didn’t place this week.

Candy Apple’s Dance Center – Cathy: All Boys Team – Group Number – “Own It”:

Cathy scrapped her original dance team from Seasons 1 & 2, and created a brand-new all boys team. She strongly believed that this would be her secret weapon to beat Abby, but her team came up short.

I absolutely loved their hip-hop routine. (Guest Choreographer Nick Anthony flew into Ohio from Los Angeles to teach the boys a hip-hop routine). The judges and the audience went wild (i.e. standing ovations, hollering). I was positive that they were going to place first, but they placed second instead.

Abby’s nemesis, Cathy

I think Abby should take a leap of faith by hiring a hip-hop choreographer to teach her girls something new. It would be interesting to see the girls attempt a hip-hop routine.

Abby Lee Dance Studio: Group Number – “Pink Lemonade” – Musical Theater Piece:

This week, the girls used top hats as their prop. Abby was very particular about nobody dropping their top hats during their group number… but Chloe unfortunately dropped her hat. After they finished their routine, Abby came storming into the dressing room to say to Chloe, “Nice job, Chloe! You blew it!” Chloe’s mother Christi had enough of Abby berating her and her daughter, so she walked out on Abby. This has got to be the 50^th time that Christi has walked out on Abby, but I think she actually meant it this time. There was something different about the way she delivered it… she was more vulnerable, and her words didn’t sound scripted this time around.

I think this will be the last time we see Chloe & Christi on screen. The show won’t be the same without them.

The drop of the hat didn’t make a difference because Abby’s dancers placed first anyhow.

Christi and Chloe took a cab to the New Jersey airport, and flew back to Pennsylvania. It was a short flight.

By the way, did you catch the preview for Episode 7? IT LOOKS CRAY CRAY! Cathy is one cuckoo lady! The preview shows her physically hitting Abby and the other dance mothers. I feel terrible for her daughter, Vivi-Anne. I hope she’s not physically hurting Vivi-Anne at home either. Awful woman.
