The recap of Season 3 Episode 10 – “All’s Fair in Love and War”:
If you missed Episode 9, here’s a link to my recap.
This week’s theme was all about Love. Abby asked a boy named Nick to join the group number, and the mothers asked Abby to speed date!
Here’s how the pyramid looked for Episode 10. I’ve also embedded a video of the pyramid:
Before Abby, the dancers, and the mother headed out to Bernardsville, NJ for the competition, the mothers asked Abby to speed date! They hired a chauffeur for the night to drive them to the speed-dating event. Abby—who isn’t fond of Christi—made Christi stay inside the dance studio while the other mothers (Holly, Jill, Melissa, and Kelly) spent the night spying on Abby.
What does Abby look for in a man, you ask? She wants a “young George Clooney with perfect teeth.” She also asked the men several questions:
- Do you own your own tuxedo?
- How many times have you been to Disneyworld?
- Were you a jock in high school?
Check out this video of Abby “auditioning” her men:
Nia & Kendall performed a duet, Mackenzie & Maddie performed individual solos, and Abby added an additional member to this week’s group number.
Mackenzie’s Solo: “Love is War” – Contemporary Piece:
Abby thought she did a good job; however, she needs to work on her face/emotion more. She placed second overall in her age division.
Maddie’s Solo: “Lifeline” – Lyrical Piece:
Per usual, Maddie showed a ton of emotion; however, that wasn’t enough to garner her first place. She placed second in her age division.
Kendall and Nia’s Duet – “Dig it” – Modern Jazz Piece:
Jill pulled Abby’s assistant choreographer, Gianna, aside to ask her to conduct a Private Lesson for Kendall. Christi and Holly confronted Jill thereafter. (Nia was also suffering from bronchitis).
Kendall and Nia were dressed up in construction outfits during their number. They placed fifth overall.
Group Number: “Your Dream will be my Dream” – Lyrical Piece:
I thought this was actually their best performance thus far (especially with the addition of Nick); however, the judges had different opinions. The girls placed second overall.
Abby was extremely upset with the girls because they placed second, and because “second place is the first loser.”
What did you guys think of this episode? It’s evident that Abby still has beef with Christi. Is Jill becoming the new Melissa? (That is, sucking up to Abby so she could get ahead of the other mothers). Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading this recap of “All’s Fair in Love and War”!
