CW Reveals Caity Lotz’s Character for ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’

Caity Lotz will star in the upcoming Flash/Arrow spinoff, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which has earned a spot on The CW’s schedule for the 2015-2016 broadcast season. But there’s been much speculation about what role she’ll play, considering her character from Arrow, Sara Lance/The Canary, isn’t exactly among the living.

However, The CW has revealed the identity of the character Lotz will be playing in the upcoming spinoff. Her name?

SARA LANCE!

Yes, Sara is coming back, except she’ll now be known as the White Canary.

No explanation just yet on how this is possible, although Arrow has established the existence of the Lazarus Pits used to supernaturally extend the life of Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable). This could be the explanation not only for how she’s alive, but for why she’s returned in such a different way. Or maybe the season finale of The Flash, which is expected to involve time travel, will somehow create an alternate timeline in which Sara Lance is still alive, and guys like Leonard Snart/Captain Cold aren’t as awful as their original counterparts.

Regardless of the “how”, this is great news for the series, since Lotz can be a real asset to the show. Hell, she’s already a part of what’s turning out to be a pretty fantastic ensemble of familiar faces.

You got Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/The Atom, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Mick Rory/Heat Wave, Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein/Firestorm, Ciara Renee as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl) and Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson. In short, this is shaping up to be a really cool show. The CW is doing some of the best stuff on TV when it comes to comic book adaptations, capturing the spirit of adventure and fun that comics have. I seriously can’t wait to see how this show comes together.
