man...she's no ordinary mama!!! awsmazing!!! it was a fun song and she did it perfectly great, but i don't think that this is pne of her best rocking-sox performances. maybe it's because she's sick or the song's just not her vibe or somethin, i don't know. my fav-favorites from her so far are

To borrow from Simon I thought she was a tad screechy. Would've liked to hear her bring her voice down a bit more (like she did on the last note). That said, she's still authentic, awesome and should win Idol 9, imo!!!
PS. my guess, if I have to decifer it, is that Adelia is saying 'Why is a white girl singing a gospel song?' Elvis was one of the first to do it, and it changed the face of rock n roll. Yah baby!

I liked it but I wasn't knocked over by her tonight. It was solid, perhaps a bit too short (curses Idol). Not my favorite from her but she showed she can handle up tempo. Nice choice of song rather than an Elvis tune everyone knows. Well done.

Talented singers are a dime a dozen. Truly exceptional singer/songwriter/musicians are rare and deserve to be recognized for their multitude of gifts that they share with audiences and listeners. This DEFINES Crystal Bowersox and sets her apart from the others. Loved tonight's performance along with everything I've ever heard her do. She will win this, no doubt about it!

That was a terrific performance! Crystal is the real deal. She showed that tonight in spades. She's so comfortable just kicking ass on a great song.
nothing really special in her. just solid but not powerful. If she win, she's like and old woman trying to sell records. She will be like Fantasia.

Btw, Simon, you should have left earlier. You do no good in the show. You're technique is obvious. Crystal will end up like Archuleta and Lambert because of pure positive comments from Simon.
But she said that she never will do something that did not want .. but the songs that she sings it is not what she is, is because of it that she contradise because this one singing songs that are not of her kind(genre), of her way of being
This whole competition is nothing but covers. How can you fault her for not singing things of her own? She takes those songs and turns them into her own style. And for that she should be COMMENDED, not faulted.

I don't know when Crystal will hear anything negative from the judges, but it seems clear that most of you are not seeing any "moments" from her lately. I think Crystal's soulful "whine" sound has gotten as old as Siobhan's "scream". Let's hear something truly different, where she actually leaves her comfort zone.

She is totally immersed in the song, delivering an awesome performance with a lot of power and making it look easy. Looks easy because she is absolutely honest about herself in the music. It's interesting that you don't see that. I'm guessing you're among a tiny minority. Maybe consider what the other commenters say, go back and watch it again and see what you think.

It felt so short I wanted to hear more and more from her. I'm a big fan I would like to see something different like what she did on midnight train to Georgia. Love her!
@MASH: Listen to Crystal's original song Finally got it right in YouTube. It's my favourite and it's sung with that "sweet voice".
I HATE the influence of country music in other genres because it allows poor singers to get away with nasal, twangy vocals. Crystal allowed far too much of this country sounding **** into her singing tonight which IMHO, made it her only poor performance to date.
She has already proven with Midnight Train and Candle in the Window that she has a lovely voice, but failed to use it.
Bonny Raitt has done many songs like this, but has always striven to keep her voice pure, even when the lyrics got raunchy.
Noone ever tires of a sweet voice, but if Crystal doesn’t make more of an effort to sing sweetly, I’m afraid that many fans (myself included) will tire of Crystal before she wins this thing.
