Country Singer Lee Brice Scores His First #1 Song with ‘A Woman Like You’

Country crooner Lee Brice has a lot to celebrate in 2012. In addition to becoming engaged to Sara Reeveley on Jan. 2, this week he scored his first #1 song on both the Mediabase and Billboard Country Songs chart. While “A Woman Like You” is the first achievement as a solo artist, he previously lent his songwriter skills to two other chart toppers: “Crazy Girl” by Eli Young Band and “More Than a Memory” by Garth Brooks.

“A Woman Like You” was penned by Jon Stone –who has also written songs for Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, and Kenny Chesney.┬áBrice was pretty open about how the lucky track came to be, telling The Boot:

“Jon Stone came over and said, ‘I wrote this song.’ He played it for me and I knew immediately I wanted to record it. I went out and recorded a demo of it and within a couple weeks, my label [Curb Records] told me they wanted to release it as my next single.”
