Connie Britton, star of ABC’s Nashville and veteran of NBC’s much-loved Friday Night Lights, has joined the all-star cast of director Shawn Levy’s This Is Where I Leave You, a dark family comedy starring Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, and Jason Bateman.
The film is based on the 2009 novel by Jonathan Tropper, focusing on the four adult siblings of the Foxman family, who reunite following the death of their father. Fey, Bateman, Corey Stoll (House of Cards) and Adam Driver (Girls) will play the siblings, while Fonda will play their widowed mother.
Britton, meanwhile, will play the girlfriend of Driver’s character — the youngest, and most troubled, of the four siblings. The character is a therapist whose psychoanalyzing of the Foxman family dynamic grates on the nerves of the touchy family. However, she fails to see her own neuroses, as she’s convinced herself she has an actual, stable future with the unhinged Driver.
The film begins shooting next month from a script adapted by author Tropper himself.
