Colton Haynes leaving ‘Teen Wolf’ – Report

Colton Haynes will be exiting Teen Wolf, Us Weekly reports. Colton also tweeted tonight that “a chapter of his life is ending.”

I am so sad! Colton’s character Jackson is an integral part of the show!

From a plot perspective, this could mean that Stiles will finally win Lydia over with Jackson out. That’s a bit bittersweet. They can always keep Jackson to do and be other things on the show.

From Us Weekly:

Colton Haynes will not be returning for a third season of MTV’s scripted series Teen Wolf, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.

The former male model, 24, has played high school student and lacrosse team co-captain Jackson Whittemore since the show premiered in June 2011. When the show’s second season ended in August 2012, Haynes’ character had transitioned into a werewolf.

“Colton is leaving Teen Wolf,” a source tells Us. “It’s not that he didn’t want to return because he did. It’s that the heads of the show wanted to limit him to only appearing on half the season — 12 episodes, not 24.”

From MTV:

We were just as surprised and disappointed as Colton’s fans to read out about his decision to leave the show. We want him to return for a third season, as he has for the past two, but if this is his decision we respect that and will wish him all the best. We are excited for what Jeff Davis and producers have in store for our incredible cast in the upcoming third season.
