Matt Mason and Steven Clawson duke it out for the title of CMT Next Superstar!
Steven Clawson, 29, grew up in Thomasville, Ga., playing guitar and singing along to Garth Brooks. He decided to pursue his dreams and love for music by moving to Nashville with his wife, who he met in first grade. Steven also has a passion for songwriting, which has developed from being an avid reader. Steven believes he is CMT’s Next Superstar because he is hardworking and dynamic. His musical influences include Elvis Presley, Kenny Loggins and his favorite country singer, Brooks.
Matt Mason, 25, moved to Nashville from his hometown of Fairland, Ind., where he started singing and playing guitar in church at age 11. He has since taught himself how to play the bass and has even opened for the Charlie Daniels Band. Matt believes he is CMT’s Next Superstar because of his determination and life experiences. His musical influences range from Waylon Jennings to Bruce Springsteen.

I stopped watching this show after the first week. Matt Mason had been on Nashville Star before but didn't win (Chris Young did). Anyhow, once I saw that Matt was on the show ...plus a bit of his back story since Nashville Star he was the winner ...no reason to waste my time...
