Christina Aguilera revealed as first American Music Awards performer

After she announced the nominees today, Christina Aguilera was revealed to be the first performer at next month’s American Music Awards show! Aguilera will presumably promote her upcoming album, released a few days earlier on November 13th. The awards will be held on November 18th at Nokia Theatre in L.A.

Aguilera spoke to MTV News and said the performance will be inspired by the Lotus album cover.

“It’s very exciting. It’s definitely going to be a reflection of what Lotusmeans to me,” said Aguilera. “If you take that album cover and give it a little performance twist, I’ll bring that album cover to life, so it’s going to be really fun,” she teased, and in reference to her barely-there state on that cover, we might be seeing a whole lot of “The Voice” judge on display for that performance.
