Celeste Betton vs. Mark Hood Just Might Be The Voice Battle of the Year (VIDEO)

Mark Hood vs. Celeste Betton just might be The Voice battle of the year, as the two Team Pharrell contestants laced into each other on the premiere of the battle round on The Voice 9!

For a song as overdone as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” this was an outstanding performance from both Mark and Celeste. It was a collaborative effort like many of the battles before this, but it also had that spirit of competition that made this feel like a true battle. It was the wild game of one-upmanship, with runs on top of runs, and some killer belting and sustained notes. I was crazy about this battle! Watch the video below:

Result: Mark Hood won this battle! Celeste Betton, however, was not stolen, unfortunately. However, some audience reports state that this was the last battle filmed, and no steals were remaining. Weird that the show would schedule it for the Battles Premiere, and then edit in a voiceover from Adam about how he needs to preserve his steals, as though he had any left. But that’s the way the reality TV cookie crumbles, I guess.
