CBS Reveals 2015 Fall Schedule, Confirms End for ‘CSI’ (VIDEO)

Earlier today, CBS held its upfronts for advertisers, unveiling its fall schedule for 2015.

Supergirl, starring Melissa Benoist as the Kryptonian wonder, will debut on Monday nights in the lucrative 8:00 PM time slot, opposite FOX’s own superhero drama Gotham. However, Gotham will have a few weeks head start, as Supergirl will not premiere until after Thursday Night Football ends in early November.

Meanwhile, freshman comedy Life in Pieces has gotten the coveted post-Big Bang Theory time slot, airing first on Monday nights at 8:00 PM during Football Season, and then moving to Thursdays once football season is over. On Tuesday nights, new drama Limitless, adapted from the 2011 movie starring Bradley Cooper, will get the cushy 10:00 PM time slot after two of the network’s biggest dramas, NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans. Adding to the buzz surrounding the series is news that Bradley Cooper himself will recur throughout the season, reprising his role from the original film.

In announcing the fall schedule, CBS confirmed that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will come to an end after 15 seasons with a two-hour reunion movie. However, this won’t be the end for Ted Danson, as his CSI character, D.B. Russell, will be moved over to CSI: Cyber next season to replace Peter MacNicol, who is leaving the drama in its sophomore season.

There are also some interesting choices on what CBS is planning to hold for midseason, as new shows such as Rush Hour and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders are being kept back, while returning shows such as 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Undercover Boss and The Odd Couple are being held until January.
