CBS Renews ‘Scorpion’, ‘Madam Secretary’, and ‘NCIS: New Orleans’

Back in the fall, CBS premiered three new rookie dramas, to middling critical reception but impressive commercial gains. So it’s no big shock that CBS is saying “forget the critics” and bringing back all three.

The network has officially renewed freshman dramas Scorpion, Madam Secretary and NCIS: New Orleans.

“These freshman dramas have each made a big impact on key nights of the week,” said CBS Chairman Nina Tassler in a statement. “Creatively distinctive, the series are backed by strong showrunners with amazingly talented casts, and have resonated with a big, broad audience.”

All three shows are substantial successes for CBS, as NCIS: New Orleans draws in 18.1 million total viewers, while Madam Secretary draws 14.9 million viewers, and Scorpion brings in 14.5 million viewers. In short, they’re the Top 3 new shows of the season in total viewers, making these renewals an absolute no-brainer.

Do you watch any of these shows? If so, what do you think? Are they worth watching? Sound off in the comments!
