Cat Zingano Undergoes Incredible Transformation for UFC 200 (PHOTOS)
Cat Zingano hasn’t stepped in the Octagon since losing to Ronda Rousey in February 2015. However, with an upcoming fight at UFC 200 against former Ultimate Fighter winner Julianna Pena, Zingano has undergone a transformation that proves she’s all business. And this transformation is just in the nick of time, considering a win against Pena could put her in line for a title shot against the winner of the Women’s Bantamweight title fight between Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes.
Zingano started 2016 at 170 pounds, but she’s now down to a fighting fit 145 pounds. Zingano kept a steady diet while also working out regularly at the Alliance Training Center under head coach Eric Del Fierro and male bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. Zingano posted about her transformation on Twitter, writing, “I was 175 in Jan, 145 today. Reality vs expectation. If I can do it, anyone can #teamalphacat #ufc200 #strongAF @ufc”. Zingano then showed a photo of her progress:
Cat Zingano looks like a million bucks, and this transformation really underlines her determination to get back into contention in the women’s bantamweight division. If her training has been on point, there’s a good chance she’ll put on a showing that could rocket her right back up the rankings following UFC 200. But I suppose time will tell, since just about anything can happen in a fight. Either way, I’m hyped for UFC 200 on July 9.
