Carrie Underwood Donates $1 Million to Red Cross

Oklahoma native and American Idol Season 4 champion Carrie Underwood has donated $1 million to the Red Cross. The funds will benefit the town of Moore, OK which was devastated by a tremendous tornado this past week, as well as other regions in need. In a statement, Underwood had this to say:

I have watched the devastation in my home state of Oklahoma over the past several days with great sadness. With the help of my fans who attended my concerts over the past year, we can offer the Red Cross a little extra help in comforting those affected by the recent tornadoes.

Carrie Underwood’s donation was made possible by profits earned through her Blown Away Tour. Recently, Underwood donated the proceeds from her Atlantic City, NJ stop to victims of Hurricane Sandy. You can check out a video of Carrie making that announcement in Atlantic City below.
