I have never seen them doing that, either. I hate that crosswalk at that particular spot. It's crowded and pretty dangerous, even when a bus doesn't run the red light.

Graduated from there in 2010 and participated in this event at least twice.  Crazy!  I literally used this crosswalk thousands of times during my time there.  There is a 60 second timer that goes off when the light turns red.  It has noise the entire time the seconds tick down.  Clearly the kids on the other side of the street were already crossing so it does seem that like all the witnesses have said the bus ran the red light.  It is weird that he is the only one from that side that started crossing.  The timer probably hadn't started yet, but that doesn't mean that the bus shouldn't already have stopped by then too.  Yeah, I don't this event will happen any longer.  By the by the crosswalk is literally the size of the whole intersection.  The intersection gets used a ton.  This event happens on the last day of classes, the Friday before finals start as a way to blow off steam.  It'll probably never happen again bc of this incident.
