Box Office: ‘Furious 7’ Passes $1 Billion Overseas, Overtakes ‘Frozen’ on All-Time List
Furious 7 became only the third movie in history to pass $1 billion at the international box office, joining Avatar and Titanic. In total box office worldwide, it passed Frozen to be the #5 biggest money maker of all time.
In the U.S., Furious 7 was on top for a fourth weekend in a row earning $18.2M bringing its total to $320M domestically. This will obviously change when Avengers: Age of Ultron – already a huge success overseas – opens in the first weekend of May.
Nevertheless a spectacular run for Furious 7 zooming into history. It’s the seventh movie in a franchise. Amazing.
Last week, Vin Diesel announced that Furious 8 will be released April 14, 2017.
