I must say: the eighth episode of Bones Season 8 was pretty inventive. Executive producers Hart Hanson & Stephen Nathan really stepped up their game with this episode. Very creative and humorous script. This episode included peanut butter, stand-up comedy, and billboard vandalism. What more could you ask for? *Wink, wink*
Check out the recap for “The But In the Joke”:
Hey guys! Sorry for missing out on the last few weeks, but I’m back now to recap Season 8 of Bones! I actually just got home tonight at 10:30pm PT. (I’m in Los Angeles, so I apologize for the delay. I’ve had quite a long day today). So what do you guys think about Cam (Tamara Taylor) and Intern Arastoo (Pej Vahdat) hooking up in the previous episode? Executive producers Stephen Nathan and Hart Hanson definitely threw a curveball with that one. I would’ve never predicted Cam and Arastoo to get together. Looks-wise, however, they make a good couple. Definitely not as good as Booth+Brennan or Hodgins+Angela, but good, nonetheless.
In this episode, an artist named Zed vandalized a billboard with his own artwork. While he was attempting to paste his artwork onto a billboard—with a strong adhesive, he tripped and fell onto a corpse. The adhesive glued Zed’s skin to the decomposed body. Thereafter, the Jeffersonian Team took both Zed and the decomposed body into the lab. (They were able to separate the two with peanut butter). Also: Angela (Michaela Conlin) was star struck by Zed… since she as an artist herself. She even kissed him on the lips! Hodgins was also jealous that his wife kissed a “cool guy.”
The victim was identified to be Morgan Donnelly. His crazy ex-girlfriend Alexa, and her brother Elliott accused him of cheating on Alexa. When Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) showed up to their house to inform them about Morgan’s death, they laughed because they thought this was another one of Morgan’s pranks/jokes. It took them awhile to realize that B+B weren’t joking. (Alexa and Elliott thought they were joking because Morgan was a stand-up comedian).
Back in the lab, Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) and Intern Fisher (Joel David Moore) concluded that Morgan was struck in the face several times with a blunt object. It turns out Elliott bashed Morgan’s face (on a toilet bowl rim), murdering him to death. Alexa didn’t even know about this until she heard Elliott confessing the murder during his interrogation at the FBI office. His motive for murder was that he felt that Morgan was undermining and disrespecting him because Morgan “didn’t put any effort into spending time with [him].” Apparently, they were supposed to work on a couple projects together, but Morgan never followed through with his promises.
The next episode airs Monday, 12/3, at 8pm ET on FOX. Hopefully next week, I can have my recap up sooner! I just had a really long day today, and I got home much later than I expected to. I enjoyed blogging again! I’ve missed it! See ya next week.
