Bon Jovi’s The Circle lands at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 163,000 copies sold according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is the band’s fourth #1 album.

Andrea Bocelli’s My Christmas was at #2 with 136,000 copies. Carrie Underwood’s Play On was at #3 with 128,000 copies.

50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct which was released digitally one week in advance will debut in the charts next week. The album’s first-week digital sales will be added to its overall retail sum for the week ending Nov. 22.

163,000 is a bad count for a top artist. But it seems to be the norm these days. I believe Mariah sold about that much her first week. Not good for the music business. Where are the 500,000 sales in one week?
