I think the spoiler list from the forums is erroneous. Over at Taylor Hicks‘ official website, his face, name and even scheduled appearances are proudly displayed for everyone to see. As I understand it, there is a mandatory shutdown on all official websites once you become part of the Top 24/Top 12. Or have I just simply lost my mind? Is this not his website?

Hmmm… how underwhelming these American Idol Las Vegas auditions.
I was of course looking out for that “Irish” girl Simon Cowell mentioned in the press as his favorite. A potential Kelly Clarkson 2.0 who sang a Chaka Khan song. Could she be one of these two girls?:

As I mentioned in a post that I cannot seem to find at the moment, a couple of days before my weekly therapy session, I always think that I’m going to break down in front of my therapist. Of course, because it is pre-meditated, it never happens, but I’m glad that the therapy goes well nevertheless.

Okay, I confess. I’ve been watching Beauty and the Geek 2. Every episode. Even the reruns from last season. We must support the geek movement! We have feelings too. We deserve a reality show like this. Anti-social men who live with their parents need to be surrounded by beautiful women. Hahaha.

All I can say is I hate Zulema and I think she’s a witch for taking away our boy Nick Verreos’ model Tarah. And then Zulema wonders why everybody was hating on her? Please. At one point, Nick felt so down he wanted to quit, but I’m so happy he kept on fighting (thanks to a pep talk by Daniel Vosovic).
Thank god karma is strong in the fashion world, and Zulema was out. (And so by losing, Zulema basically brought the beautiful Tarah down with her — ughh!)

If you ever hated Charlie, this is the episode that will make you hate him completely and unconditionally. I kept on screaming at the TV: Charlie, what are you doing?
The sad part is, we won’t have a new episode next week. Uggh. Why ABC? Was it Michelle Rodriguez getting arrested that is causing the delay?
Quote of the day:
Ana Lucia: You hittin that?
Jack: What?
Ana Lucia: Plane crash. You both survive. Nice beach. She’s hot. You’re hot. It’s what people do.
…
Jack: I’m not hittin that.

Good stuff. Good stuff.
Again, a mini-feature increases your chances, and I really, really like Kellie Pickler. I’m sure a lot of people will too. At first I thought she would be a Carrie-clone, but it looks like Kellie has a lot more spirit in her.

OMG - Paris Bennett - I love her! Paris! One of the best auditions ever. Chills and tears. Great stuff.

More audition clips from Chicago:
Deputy Sheriff Brandon Groves singing “I Shot the Sheriff”:
TV reporter Giselle Fernandez and Jonathan are eliminated. Master P. is still around. Paso Doble and Foxtrot next week.

Chloe Dao should have won last night. It’s original, beautiful and very elegant — and to think it’s a skating dress! The poll on the Project: Runway site shows that the fans love Chloe (and Nick Verreos). Instead, Sasha Cohen’s going to wear Zulema’s design.
Chloe Dao makes use of great blues which is beginning to be her trademark. I think she’s wonderful.
And I still love Nick. He’s like everybody’s gay uncle that you just love.
After last week’s ultra-intense Mr. Eko episode, last night was uneventful. We learn that the “others” on the island don’t want Jack and the rest to “cross the line” into their “territory”; and after getting ambushed by the others in their pursuit of Michael, Jack wants to form an army to fight them with the help of Ana Lucia. Nice. I wonder how this will play out with the women on the island. The story of Jack’s separation from his wife was quite painful.
Quote of the day:
Jack: Hey, what are you doing?
Sawyer: What’s it look like? I’m coming with ya.
Jack: You’re still on anti-biotics.
Sawyer: It’s a good thing I’m traveling with my doctor then.
Woohoo! Sawyer is such a badass. He’s Wolverine to Jack’s Scott Summers, or to DC fans: Batman vs. Superman. Love. It.
Chris Daughtry has a great backstory. Member of a rock band, but thinks American Idol is a great opportunity. Inspired by Bo Bice. Married, with 2 kids — his wife’s not his. Hard-working family man from the South. Just love how he pronounced his last name.

All I can say is thank you Ace Young for auditioning for American Idol. I’m a bit more optimistic now that we’re going to have a good year.
It looks like this is the season for the guys.
16-year old Lisa Tucker sang “One Moment in Time”. She’s not on the spoiler list. Maybe a meltdown in Hollywood? Too young?

Constantine Maroulis, Bo Bice… and now: Christopher “Chris” Daughtry.
Lead vocals and guitar for a band called Absent Element — the band’s website has promptly blacked out his picture and name. They’ll be showing his audition Wednesday, but the one clip they’ve shown has so far been awesome. Once I find out if they will call him “Chris” or “Christopher”, he is so getting his own category here.
Rounding out our American Idol auditions in Chicago posts is the inexplicable selection of David Hoover into Hollywood. I’m trying to keep my expectation low at the kind of mayhem he will inflict on the other contestants in Hollywood, but I’m still interested at how this plays out. Blatant stunt-casting, but what can you do.
At the end of the show, they collected the worst of Chicago in a Lady Marmalade medley which includes extended coverage of tan-girl Crystal Parizanski.
My YouTube experiments:

Again, if you get an American Idol mini-feature video, your chances go up-up-up, specially if you’re a cutie, like David Radford. He is a major upgrade from the previous American Idol Sinatra John Stevens. Paula of course is our barometer and when you see her smitten like that, you know this kid’s going to go far, hopefully Top 24. Will Simon really mow him down in Hollywood?

Zachary Smits auditioned in Chicago singing “I’m in the mood for love” — which reminded me of those two guys for American Idol in San Francisco last year. He had an intro, so he may have some value, but without any spoilers I don’t know. The two SFO guys made it to Hollywood but not the Top 24, so we’ll see how far Zach will go. What do you guys think?
Brooke Barrettsmith auditioned for American Idol with her sister Leah in Chicago. They both made it to Hollywood, but were warned that they needed to improve.
When you get a mini-feature during the auditions, your chances of getting into the Top 24 increase. So in this case, based on the spoilers, Brooke is in.
