Fantasia’s performance of Summertime took me by surprise as well. Similar to her 1st week performance of something to talk about. Simon talks about a “dark horse”, This girl is bad!(as in phenominal!). She’s the real dark horse. I didn’t think she had a chance (based on her audition clip!) But after the 1st round, I voted that she will take it all in our office pool!

I just love Fantasia, she is the bomb. We both come from North Carolina and I hope that we can do a song together, cause everyone calls me Lil Ruben. Anyway Fantasia is the best singer in AI3. The best talent of american idol period and the best i’ve seen out of all three idol shows. I love her breathtaking dress plus her being barefoot is very unique. It is such a shame that people vote for JPL and Jon for just personality and looks over talent. What blind deaf people and not intelligent. This is not “Hot Looking Idol or Best Persona Idol. Oh well I want Fantasia to win but I think she will be in the top three with a record deal nonetheless. I am from chicago and I think Fantasia is better than Hudson. Fantasia’s performance of summertime was absolutely outstanding. There aren’t any words that can quite describe it. I don’t understand why there are some who’s hating on her because she has 100% of pure talent. Fantasia is true to her heart. She’s hilarious, down to earth, confident which is what you need to stand the test of time in this competition, and one who truly deserve to earn the title american idol. There are other prospects who are alright but week after week she’s constantly doing her thing and making it happen. She has everyone support here in korea. We love her here in the military.

I live in England and I caught American Idol when I heard Fantasia Barrino singing her first full song. I said to myself my god she is going to win this competition. She is absolutely amazing and I for one will buy every piece of music she sings.
My husband is in total agreement with me (which is a first).
Go Fantasia.
P.S. By the way - look out for Will Young - our first Pop Idol. His voice is also amazing.

Fantasia Barrino is Amazing with a CAPITAL A!!!!!!! Her “summertime” performance made me cry, because it was so soothing and comforting yet powerful at the same time. I was far more moved by Fantasia’s performance than any clay performance (sorry Clay, you still are amazing though). And let me tell you- LaToya is fantastic as well! Both their songs have moved me and have been stuck in my head for the past few days. And just the thought of one of these two going is awful. It really does show you how many tonedeaf and tastless people vote because LaToya was in the bottom three a couple of weeks ago! It is such a relief to see JPL depart. He just didn’t have the “stuff” the get through! But anyway, Two people I know aren’t really for Fantasia, but I’m trying to change that. I still have to show them a clip of summertime and maybe they’ll change their minds. Go Fantasia, LaToya, and Jennifer! You guys got soul!

Fantasia (always), George Huff (almost always), and Jennifer Hudson (not so often) are the contestants that talk to my deeper emotions.Fantasia is by far the one which can extract tears of joy. Since the Norwegian Idol has lost its trustworthiness in which strong and talented contestants (Maria and Anh) were voted out in favor of a Lolita who cannot sing, well, I better turn my attention to the US Idol. I will certainly vote for Fantasia. She truly rocks and is a diva! Her voice is fantastic! I cannot wait for her records. I do really hope that she wins and that the US Idol audience do not follow the Norwegian audience, judges, and TV2 turning the program into a money-making scandalous parody on a par with Jerry Springer’s show.
One thing for sure, you should start to question things when the judges never say a bad thing to a Lolita whose voice is extremely mediocre. Shame on those who vote for a Lolita!
Sure, Norwegian constestants will be no match for Fantasia, but if Norwegians really vote for Maria, we still at least have a chance and a face to present a quality contestant for the World Idol. But, well, apparently, Norwegian Idol is an Idol competition, not a voice/singer competition. A big shame for Norway this year!

I first heard Fantasia at a Gospel Music Workshop in our hometown of High Point, NC. She was only 12 years old and wowed the crowd. I found out her name and had not heard anything else until our Local News channel Fox 8, said she was going to be on AI3, I am so proud of her, I do not know what to do and I know she will win this competition and put HP, and the Barrino name on the map. For the first time, I am looking for a video clip of an Idol show compelled by Fantasia’s amazing May 4 performance of “What are you doing with the rest of your life.” The clip at the end of the show did not do justice to her performance. And the USA Today website only has the end — which I am listening to repeatedly. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add this performance as you did Summertime.
Initially, I did not care for Fantasia and would actually do something else when it was her turn to sing. Yet, once I started listening to her over the weeks, I have become drawn to her very unique sound. She reminds me of Aretha and in last night’s performance a hint of Billie Holiday in the mournful character of her voice. I have always liked LaToya. However, I would definitely buy a Fantasia CD because I could listen to her over and over and over again. Hopefully, the Idol folks will put out a CD single with last night’s performance.

Fantasia’s performance of Summertime took me by surprise as well. Similar to her 1st week performance of something to talk about. Simon talks about a “dark horse”, This girl is bad!(as in phenominal!). She’s the real dark horse. I didn’t think she had a chance (based on her audition clip!) But after the 1st round, I voted that she will take it all in our office pool!

I just love Fantasia, she is the bomb. We both come from North Carolina and I hope that we can do a song together, cause everyone calls me Lil Ruben. Anyway Fantasia is the best singer in AI3. I think that she will take it all the way and become the next American Idol. I think that she gets better and better every week. Her rendition of Summertime was off the chain(great)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantasia’s Summertime performance brought me to tears. I never buy music CD’s because they are so overpriced. I can’t wait until Fantasia’s comes out. I will buy it as soon as it is released, at whatever cost!

I have been looking for the clip of Summertime everywhere. Thank you so much. I keep playing it over and over. I absolutely love Fantasia and I know she will win the title. I wish these haters would stop and realize she is a true talent. I’m getting real tired of the macy gray comparisons. Have they heard Macy Gray sing. She can’t hold a note. First of all, let me just say thank you so much for posting Fantasia’s audio clips. I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates that VERY much!

The best talent of american idol period and the best i’ve seen out of all three idol shows. I love her breathtaking dress plus her being barefoot is very unique. It is such a shame that people vote for JPL and Jon for just personality and looks over talent. What blind deaf people and not intelligent. This is not “Hot Looking Idol or Best Persona Idol. Oh well I want Fantasia to win but I think she will be in the top three with a record deal nonetheless. I am from chicago and I think Fantasia is better than Hudson. Thanks for the free mp3 songs of Fantasia to listen and not charging “99cents”. I also like all the love this site has for Fantasia. I will bookmark this site. Keep rockin Fantasia I love you.

Fantasia’s performance of summertime was absolutely outstanding. There aren’t any words that can quite describe it. I don’t understand why there are some who’s hating on her because she has 100% of pure talent. Fantasia is true to her heart. She’s hilarious, down to earth, confident which is what you need to stand the test of time in this competition, and one who truly deserve to earn the title american idol. There are other prospects who are alright but week after week she’s constantly doing her thing and making it happen. She has everyone support here in korea. We love her here in the military.

I live in England and I caught American Idol when I heard Fantasia Barrino singing her first full song. I said to myself my god she is going to win this competition. She is absolutely amazing and I for one will buy every piece of music she sings.
My husband is in total agreement with me (which is a first).
Go Fantasia.
P.S. By the way - look out for Will Young - our first Pop Idol. His voice is also amazing.
He has a website over in England.
If you type in on Google search engine - Devoted Will Young you will find the site and loads of downloads.

Fantasia Barrino is Amazing with a CAPITAL A!!!!!!! Her “summertime” performance made me cry, because it was so soothing and comforting yet powerful at the same time. I was far more moved by Fantasia’s performance than any clay performance (sorry Clay, you still are amazing though). And let me tell you- LaToya is fantastic as well! Both their songs have moved me and have been stuck in my head for the past few days. And just the thought of one of these two going is awful. It really does show you how many tonedeaf and tastless people vote because LaToya was in the bottom three a couple of weeks ago! It is such a relief to see JPL depart. He just didn’t have the “stuff” the get through! But anyway, Two people I know aren’t really for Fantasia, but I’m trying to change that. I still have to show them a clip of summertime and maybe they’ll change their minds. Go Fantasia, LaToya, and Jennifer! You guys got soul!

Fantasia (always), George Huff (almost always), and Jennifer Hudson (not so often) are the contestants that talk to my deeper emotions.Fantasia is by far the one which can extract tears of joy. But I still can’t see what is the thing with that Jon Stevens…JPL, whatever, at least he made me laugh , even though I can’t say if it’s a compliment…But THAT JON STEVENS, C’MON!!!!!!!

Since the Norwegian Idol has lost its trustworthiness in which strong and talented contestants (Maria and Anh) were voted out in favor of a Lolita who cannot sing, well, I better turn my attention to the US Idol. I will certainly vote for Fantasia. She truly rocks and is a diva! Her voice is fantastic! I cannot wait for her records. I do really hope that she wins and that the US Idol audience do not follow the Norwegian audience, judges, and TV2 turning the program into a money-making scandalous parody on a par with Jerry Springer’s show.
One thing for sure, you should start to question things when the judges never say a bad thing to a Lolita whose voice is extremely mediocre. Shame on those who vote for a Lolita!
Sure, Norwegian constestants will be no match for Fantasia, but if Norwegians really vote for Maria, we still at least have a chance and a face to present a quality contestant for the World Idol. But, well, apparently, Norwegian Idol is an Idol competition, not a voice/singer competition. A big shame for Norway this year!

I first heard Fantasia at a Gospel Music Workshop in our hometown of High Point, NC. She was only 12 years old and wowed the crowd. I found out her name and had not heard anything else until our Local News channel Fox 8, said she was going to be on AI3, I am so proud of her, I do not know what to do and I know she will win this competition and put HP, and the Barrino name on the map. We will continue to pray for her and MANY BLESSINGS TASIA, WE LOVE YOU. DO YOUR THANG GIRL.

This is a wonderful site. I, too, have been stunned by the breathtaking brilliance of Fantasia’s performances. She is like a wonderfully aged wine, brimming with depth and intricate textures! It is clear that I am not alone in my appreciation of her talent, or in my anticipation of her next performance. Like Paula, I was brought to tears by her latest performance “The Rest of My Life.” Even more good news: the girl is only 19. Hopefully we will have many years of this amazing performer.

For the first time, I am looking for a video clip of an Idol show compelled by Fantasia’s amazing May 4 performance of “What are you doing with the rest of your life.” The clip at the end of the show did not do justice to her performance. And the USA Today website only has the end — which I am listening to repeatedly. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add this performance as you did Summertime.
Initially, I did not care for Fantasia and would actually do something else when it was her turn to sing. Yet, once I started listening to her over the weeks, I have become drawn to her very unique sound. She reminds me of Aretha and in last night’s performance a hint of Billie Holiday in the mournful character of her voice. I have always liked LaToya. However, I would definitely buy a Fantasia CD because I could listen to her over and over and over again. Hopefully, the Idol folks will put out a CD single with last night’s performance.

FOX 5 news did a special on American Idol and a Rolling Stones representative predicted that you are the only American Idol (including the previous shows) that she thinks will have staying power. Fantasia girl is great. I watched her for the first time last night (5/25/04). I don’t usually watch the show, but I really enjoyed listening to her sing. Don’t get me wrong, the other girl was wonderful as well. She can definitely make it with her talent.

Fantasia is definitely the American Idol. That girl can blow. Fantasia reminds me so much of myself. I am also a 19 year old singer, very ambitious, and very crazy just like her.
I had planned on auditioning for AI3 in Atlanta, but I found out I was pregnant so I decided not to go and I am glad I did because Fantasia’s performances would have intimidated me, and I am a pretty good singer, but Fantasia would probably run circles around me.

I absolutely LOVE Fantasia!!!! I was crying along with her when she won! From day ONE she was my favorite. It feels amazing to have my favorite win the competition - she truly deserves to be the American Idol! I cannot wait until her CD comes out, and I truly hope ‘Summertime’ will be on there. I still get goosebumps when I hear her sing that song. If Diana won, I don’t think I would have watched next season’s American Idol. Fantasia winning has restored my faith in the show. That truly made my night. Heck, it made my whole week!

Man! Fantasia has a great voice and a wonderful spirit to go with it. When I heard the summertime clip I was totally blown away. She can do almost any song that you put in front of her and that will take her a very long way. I know in one of her interviews she syays that she plans to be in the game for a long time which is good, when she reaches that point in her career I think trhat she will be known as one of the best singers that ever lived. All I can say is that I wish her the best and that she continues to put GOD first in all things that she does. Much love to you Fantasia. That was a really good performance. However, I still think LaToya is better after comparing that to “All By Myself” and “Someday.”
But compared to Diana, Fantasia is so much better!

Summertime has always been one of my favorite songs, I even sang it as part of my final grade from university when I obtained my music degree. Thanks rickey for blessing me with Fantasias awesome rendition of Summertime. I shall keep it as one of my classics and enjoy listening to it for years to come.

OMG, I am so very happy that Fantasia won this year’s AI competition. Heard many folks who were against her, simply because the judges were in her corner straight from the beginning when Simon said at the Atlanta auditions “you could be the contestant who doesn’t even need this competition to get a record deal” and continued to sing her praises practically every week after that. Now, I enjoy Macy (much to the chagrin of my 16 yo son), Aretha, Mary J, and recently even “Beyonce & ‘em”, but I think Fantasia has a voice that’s all her own. She’ll be that unstoppable force that we don’t see every day, not one of those contestants/winners that, 5-10 yrs down the road, folks’ll be scratchin’ their heads trying to remember the winners of American Idol’s early years…because she’ll still be on top.
Now, I’m not one to indulge in buying singles…but I’m off to Amazon.com to pre-order her “triple single” June 15 release right now, ah-ight!!?!! (to include I Believe / Dreams / Summertime) If y’all go, search for “Fantasia Barrino” (don’t just type Fantasia, cause you have to go thru more pages to get around the Disney movie) That should satisfy me til her CD comes out in the fall!

I live in England and have been following American Idol since last 32. When I first saw and heard Fantasia she sent a tingle up and down my spine. It was obvious that she was a star already, someone who could not only sing with more feeling than most of the rest put together, but also a performer of quality. Not only is she great to listen to, but also supreamly entertaining to watch. I just hope I can get her CD over here soon.
She is going to be up there with the likes of Nina, Ella, etc

Fantasia, i had a very important fund raising dinner to go to the night of the finally performance. I made up an excuse why i couldn’t make it so that i can see the last performance. I felt like you were a relative and i had to pick you up from the bus station at 8:00pm sharp. I’m glad i made the right choice. You just made me feel so good inside. You make people forget they have problems when you sing. You’re wonderful. I still cry when i hear summertime and i beleive.

I knew fanasia was the American Idol when I first saw her audition. She sung “Primary” by Tina Turner I said to myself ” she’s it, she’s the one” and right then and their I fell in love with her voice. Through out the shows I began to fall in love with her as a person. I think she a nice person with a great personality and thats what makes her special. Yesterday, I was going through all my old tapes and came upon American Idol’s last show. I ended up spending the entire day listening to Fantasia’s last song “I Believe” over and over and over again. I love the way she moves, the way she carries herself, her voice, her soul, her personality….and I’m a straight white female!

I think that Fantasia is wonderful, her talent is awesome to listen to and watch. Fantasia shows emotion when she is singing and it feels like a person in live in concert with her although your watching the television. Some co-workers were discussing the song “Baby Mama”, and that is not a healthy song for the teenagers of today, but I beg to differ I think that it encourages young unwed mothers to keep their heads,and if you are a baby mama then be the best babies mother you can be.
