I decided to be fashionably late for last Friday’s Big Apple Blogger Bash, but I was barred from entering the worst bar in New York City: AZ. The three girls at the door told me they were full to capacity, but clearly they just didn’t want us there because we had an “unannounced” party/get-together. I learned later that they refused to serve drinks to the blogger-people, even if there were at least 20-30 people already there. Paul decided to move the group to Siberia.
On the way, I had a pleasant talk with Karl (not his real name) and was interviewed by a guy named Anthony with a last name we couldn’t pronounce from the New York Sun. At Siberia, I had a pleasant talk with Jennifer (her real name) who once was a much-talked about blogger, until somebody stalked her after her picture appeared in the New York Times. She will soon start a new blog under a different name after months of being away.
Though I didn’t see some people I thought I’d see there, it was still great to see my favorite former-librarian and rugby player. There were also a lot of faces that smiled at me so I smiled back, but I do not know their names or URLs. I am sure they were nice people. Oh, and there were some real cuties too. At about 11, I left to go play at a special midnight Magic tournament.
Taking these pictures, with my Nikon Coolpix 2500 which I need to upgrade, was “pure ecstasy”:
