Countdown to Trilogy Tuesday

Last Saturday, Ursula informed me that the Lord of the Rings Trilogy Tuesday tickets were sold out, and was wondering if I had an extra ticket. Of course, I didn’t and was surprised because I didn’t even know that the tickets had gone on sale already. (I was sad that morning but was eventually distracted by flower arrangements in a dark Turkish restuarant.)

I find out later that tickets had gone on sale last Thursday and was sold out within an hour in New York City. This of course did not discourage me from trying to get a ticket online that evening, and after a frantic search and seemingly going out of my mind, I was able to buy some… in ROCHESTER, NY! Haha. That was about 3 am, and I think I wasn’t thinking straight. Of course, I assumed my friends wanted to go as well, so I purchased three tickets. As it turned out, I find out that I will have to go alone with two extra tickets, to some distant town, which will be really cold at that time, all in the name of “once in a lifetime experience”.

Rochester is about 350 miles from New York City, and based on the Greyhound schedule, I will need to leave at 1 am from New York in order to arrive in Rochester at 8 am. Enough time to get in line early and perhaps scalp the two extra tickets that I have hopefully above face value. After 11 hours or so, I will take a 4 am bus back to the city.

It’s a plan. I have tickets. I am fairly excited. Anyone want to go to Rochester with me?

  Rickey! While I certainly admire your gumption for this crazy adventure, methinks it might be unneccesary. It looks to me like the have tickets available for a showing in North Haven, CT. Somehow a 90′ish minute ride on the Metro North seems a bit more palatable…

  My wifes a Lord of the Rings expert. In the Karate system she’d be a 5th degree balckbelt.She saw the first movie in the theatre 32 times .We bought two tickets on ebay friday night for super Tuesday for 300.00 its pure capitalism at work.Best thing we ever did. I think Aragorn would have done the same thing.

  a google “trilogy tuesday” search also brought me here. *sigh* i cried when i discovered it was sold out. $300 is a bit pricey for this poor girl.
  you should sell your extras on ebay & make some rich geek happy.

  I REALLY was looking forward to going to the Trilogy Tuesday premiere. I can’t find tickets ANTWHERE!! I guess I’m screwed. Can anyone help me? I need to go! Where do I get tickets???

  I would be willing to go up to rochester if you don’t mind a total stranger. I was in germany when the tickets went on sale so I wasn’t able to get them. I might even be able to drive or at least travel with you. I live in brooklyn but I need to get into a show on trilogy tuesday so I am pretty desperate. Not crazy just a big fan.

  Hey I just though that some of you might like to know that I found a theatre selling trilogy tickets in Warwick, RI. Much closer than Rochester. Praise to Il√∫vatar and the Valar.

  Hey dude. I’ll pay ya for the two extra tickets & pick ya up/drop ya off at the bus station. I live in Rochester and completely missed the opportunity to buy the tickets. A friend is doing a BBQ/tailgating thing maybe in the parking lot, so I’ll even get your meals. Email me if you’re interested.

  I think you have what it takes to go on this adventure. Say, do you have any of the tickets available? My wife and my family think I am loco. I told them that I was willing to travel to Boston,Baltimore,Virginia or Orlando if I was able to get a ticket. They do not understand that this will be a once in a lifetime experience. I am going crazy trying to get tickets but not crazy enough to pay $350 or $450 for each of them. Email me if you have a ticket available.
