Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day checks into rehab after iHeartRadio meltdown
The band issued a statement to the AP that Armstrong is headed for treatment for substance abuse and apologized for his behavior.
After a very public meltdown on stage at the 2012 iHeartRadio concert in Las Vegas last night, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has announced that he’s checking into rehab to seek treatment for a substance abuse problem.
In a statement to The Associated Press, the also band apologized for the incident and added that their set was not cut short by Clear Channel (who hosted the two-day festival).

It was a very coherent speech he gave. After all----he stops the song they are playing and says---- I wanna play some new songs, turns around and sees 1 minute on the time left screen. They cut his stage time in half during his performance. I would have been pissed too and probably sounded off similarly. Here's the rub. Green Day has 3 albums releasing this fall. THREE.
