‘Beyonce’ is the best-selling female album of 2013
In just two mere weeks, Beyonce‘s self-titled album is the biggest-selling album by a female artist for 2013.
After ten days of release, the album has sold 991,000 copies, just closing in on the 1 million mark. Bey’s record bests the 920,000 copies of Pink’s The Truth About Love, which also sold 945,000 in 2011.
Beyonce’s album reigned supreme at #1 on the Billboard 200 this week and will probably remain for weeks to come.
Beyonce will be her first album to sell 1 million copies in three weeks. The fastest-selling album she had previously was I Am..Sasha Fierce in 2008
The album is vying to become the first to be in the year-end top 10 albums in just three weeks of sales since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking music sales in 1991. It would also put her in a tie with Garth Brooks, Eminem, and Mariah Carey to have made the year-end top 10 in six different years since 1991.
