Bernie Sanders Slammed For Superdelegate Hypocrisy (VIDEO)
Bernie Sanders was on Meet The Press on Sunday and tried to make the case that: 1. Superdelagates should vote for him in states where he won to follow the will of voters, and 2. In states that he did not win, they should still vote for him because according to polls, he has a better chance of beating Donald Trump in the general compared to Hillary Clinton.
Promptly, host Chuck Todd called him out on his hypocrisy: “You’re saying you want them to respect the vote in their state, then at the same time, you say, ‘But oh, by the way, for those of you that are a superdelegate in a state that Clinton won, why don’t you think about the general election?’ It’s a little bit hypocritical to be on both sides of those issues.”
“No, no, no, that’s not what I’m saying,” Sanders argued.
Wasn’t it just a few months ago that the Sanders campaign complained about superdelegates? Is this his path to victory now?
Even if superdelagates are removed from the equation, Clinton still leads Sanders in pledged delegates – and actually needs less than 50% of the votes left to clinch the nomination outright.
All will be settled on June 7 when Democrats from six states including delegate-rich California vote.
