‘Beauty and the Beast’ Wins at People’s Choice Awards for Fourth Consecutive Year

We did it! Our excessive voting has paid off once again!

Even though it’s heading into its final season this summer, Beauty and the Beast is a winner for a fourth straight year. The show won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show, BATB’s sixth PCA overall, after winning Favorite New TV Drama in 2013 (feels like only yesterday!), Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show and Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress for Kristin Kreuk in 2014 and 2015, and Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show in 2015. Granted, while a lot of us would probably rather have a fifth season guarantee, a fourth consecutive People’s Choice Award is absolutely nothing to scoff at, especially considering how few shows manage to have this level of continuous success at the PCAs. It really is impressive, and speaks volumes of the show’s profile. Hell, I’d still argue that the series has tremendous value to The CW both internationally and as a summer series, since the off-season programming for the network isn’t exactly what you’d call strong otherwise.

All in all, I’m proud of the show for continuing to deliver. Beauty and the Beast wasn’t the only show or movie I voted for at the People’s Choice Awards this year, but it’s the victory about which I’m happiest.
