Because it worked oh-so-well the last time, a new TV movie about the turbulent love affair between legendary film stars Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor is under way, and BBC America is on board as producers.

The film, from BBC Drama Productions, stars Dominic West and Helena Bonham Carter as the explosive ex-lovers. The story depicts the duo’s ill-fated appearance in the 1983 revival of Noel Coward’s play, Private Lives, which ran on Broadway for 63 performances. The project will be co-produced by BBC America for its Dramaville block, while BBC Four will air the film in the UK.

Richard Laxton directs from a screenplay by Made In Dagenham’s William Ivory. A release date has yet to be set.
