‘Bates Motel’ Renewed for Season 3

A&E is keeping it all in the family. And creepily so, as Norma and Norman Bates will be coming back in a year’s time.

Yes, the network has renewed Bates Motel for a third season, to air in 2015. The current second season of the contemporary prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho is among A&E’s most successful shows, as it is currently the network’s #1 drama series of all time among adults 18-49. So it basically was just a matter of making the Season 3 announcement official.

“The incredible writing team and talented ‘Bates Motel’ cast has made this series one of the most compelling original dramas on television,” said David McKillop, Executive Vice President and General Manager at A&E Network, in a press release. “The brilliant twists and turns of the past two seasons keep its loyal fan base coming back for more. We are so proud of the show.”

The third season will consist of ten episodes. Production on Bates Motel Season 3 is expected to start in the fall. Until then, new episodes of Bates Motel can currently be seen Monday nights at 10:00 PM ET on A&E.
