Danity Kane star Aubrey O’Day might be busy trying to woo Donald Trump, but she has been hard at work on a new album. The lead single “Wrecking Ball” dropped last night on iTunes following the airing of Celebrity Apprentice. The track was cowritten by David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood), Steven Miller, and American Idol‘s Pia Toscano.
She opened up to On Air with Ryan Seacrest about the song, saying:
“’Wrecking Ball’ is a beautifully executed song. David Hodges pushed me past my comfort zone in R&B/pop music and forced me to deliver a strong pop anthem that makes me depend on my vocal performance more than any track I’ve recorded. It was an honor to hear him say I murdered my vocals, as he has worked with some of the greatest vocalist in the business right now, from Kelly Clarkson to Carrie Underwood.”
Last night, she tweeted her excitement:
Check out On Air with Ryan Seacrest tom morning for the premier of my new song #WreckingBall & go to iTunes n download NOW!Xoxo tweets!

The track does have a catchy chorus and thumping base. How will it fare on radio? Well, being on TV certainly doesn’t hurt her chances.
