The X Factor’s Astro cast in first major movie role
Former THE X FACTOR contestant ASTRO has landed his first movie role, alongside LIAM NEESON in A Walk Among The Tombstones.
The 17-year-old rapper was a standout on the first season of the talent show, eventually landing in seventh place.
Since his elimination, the Brooklyn, New York-based teen has been working on his rap career, and diving into acting, having appeared on an episode on the CBS drama Person Of Interest.
Astro, real name Brian Bradley, is now heading to the big screen in A Walk Among The Tombstones, a film based on one of the popular books in crime author Lawrence Block’s Matt Scudder novels.
And Astro’s character won’t be too much of a stretch for him – he’ll plays a homeless 17 year old struggling artist, who assists Neeson’s lead character, Matt Scudder, get to the bottom of a series of kidnappings and murders.
The film also stars Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens and American Horror Story’s Mark Consuelos. (TD/PR/KL)
